We are complying with Government COVID-19 guidance to ensure our trains are always kept two metres apart when passing each other and making the necessary track upgrades.
@KatieAppleby23@My_Metro Does it have a stress ball and 20 Benson & Hedges inside? If so it could belong to 1 of around 1,000,000 Metro passengers.
@MCRMetrolink Do your fleet of trains suffer from the effects of low rail adhesion to an extent that services are regularly delayed? Just asking for a friend. Thanks.
I NEVER leave Ken Towers without my 1986 complimentary staff timetable. There were no ‘peak trains’ running in those days and it never suffered from the effects of LRA. So it’s pretty much more accurate today than the current timetable. #ThrowbackThursday
Haymarket Station is currently entry only. The escalators are shagged but you can use the metal slide in between them to access the platform. Don’t worry, we’ve removed the bobbly spikes 👍
#ThrowbackThursday 1984 - we trialed the ‘Metro Odyssey’ project, introducing the world’s first underwater light rail service, which we know now as the Shields ferry.
Due to low rail adhesion we currently have delays of up to 30 mins between Central Station and Jesmond in both directions. The underground trees have caused us nothing but bother this year.
We’ve organised a replacement bus service for the Shields ferry. I pulled the lads at Metro Control up on this but yep, it floats!https://t.co/4s1udvilNH
I’ll be switching on the Christmas lights in Newcastle City centre tonight at 17:30, posing for photos and signing day rovers. Metro are in charge of the power supply this year so nothing can go wrong. 💪
Apologies to passengers traveling between Pelaw and South Shields. We currently have a service suspension due to fallen overhead power lines........ On a completely unrelated topic, does anyone in the Hebburn area have some decent superglue?
We currently have minor delays affecting the ferry service between North Shields and South Shields in both directions. This is due to low rail adhesion.
#ThrowbackThursday Fun fact this morning - Metro’s excuses actually originate from the original Railway Series children’s books! Here’s three from Ken’s treasure trove.
