@JosephMcGrath4@blatobvlgivm@vickiGPN The median is not £110,000 - it was correctly given by the OP as £20,000, same as the mode in this particular example.
@WLDispatch Ridiculous that this is still a problem - I remember it being an issue in a council election around 30 years ago! I've always avoided going along it - neither drivers nor pedestrians have room to pass in the allocated space. One way would enable the pavement to be widened, too.

@bncowell@pmberry2007@john_johnfill@MrTimDunn They were there in 1975, but out of use due to a recent death in a set elsewhere. After adding extra safety measures, they were back in use a few years later, but never really had sufficient capacity and were eventually replaced by extra lifts.

@richardosman Fascinating story as always with WDYTYA. And on a personal note, lovely to see the church and font in which some of my ancestors were baptized 150 years ago and more.
@eahsmahbap @DaRefScottGrady@tonymgeiger@OsadeEmma@Freeyourmindkid Guns are not outright banned in the UK (mostly), but they are difficult to own - and the more firepower they have, the more their ownership has to be justified. The average man on the Clapham Omnibus has no use for one, nor would he want one.
@SimonCalder This is my cousin's family, so have a vested interest (and could ask if they would supply contact details if you or any other journalist interested).
@SimonCalder Qantas absolutely *not* pulling out all the stops for current travellers: https://t.co/9IPiZbmrQv. This is beyond disgraceful and should be widely publicised to shame them into doing the decent thing.
