The limit on software used to be engineering and now it's mostly imagination.

I'd spend a lot more time on the version of my idea that makes people say "wait, what is that?"

Most software looks the same, so anything that looks different gets noticed, shared and remembered.

Tried something like it. Two things to check when it's done: the post dates, since a lot of what it finds can be months old, and whether the people actually asked for something like your app.

If you want to do this at volume, one long Opus run gets expensive fast. I built SignalScout for that. It watches Reddit, X and LinkedIn all the time, checks every new post, and only shows you the ones where someone asks for what you sell. Thousands of posts in, a short list out.

AI will make functionality incredibly cheap. Anyone will be able to build another app, replicate another feature, or generate another interface within minutes.

The only thing that remains is taste, philosophy, and conviction.

Opinionated software is built on deliberate choices, by a team with strong principles and the freedom to disappoint some people to serve others exceptionally well.

As the cost of building software approaches zero, the value of deciding *what* deserves to exist will only increase.
