One of our members @michaelmas79 has spotted a Lizard Orchid still growing in the same place in Huntingdonshire. It’s been there for at least 5 years. Great pictures 👍 cracking species of Orchid.

At a chalk quarry site we own in North Lincolnshire we’ve had 2 piles of rubble dumped containing Japanese Knotweed. A treatment plan in place to try & halt the spread, set up no go areas & installed warning signs

I carried out a newt survey in my small garden pond the other night: 14 male & 5 female Smooth Newts, also 8 Cased Caddisflies. A few years ago I created a hibernaculum.

We had an amazing talk by @AHunterPhotos about “The Flora & Fauna of the Alps” fab to find out about the wildlife at different altitudes & the various habitat types.
@CheckCleanDryGB Yep I’ve been out on the River Great Ouse this weekend. Kayak Checked ✅ Cleaned ✅ Dry ✅ (dried out in the sunshine ☀️) even getting into those hard to reach areas. No INNS being spread by me 👍

@CambsCC driving past a roundabout nr Sawtry before you cross over the A1 I couldn’t help but notice about 200 Bee Orchids growing on it. Can you please not cut it until they’ve finished flowering. There’s still good visibility 👍

@BumblebeeTrust I’ve found a bumblebee nest in my lawn which is really nice to see. It survived the mower before I realised it was there. To make sure it doesn’t get mown or accidentally stood on by my 9yr old it’s marked with a red flag 🚩.

Despite the wind it didn’t stop us from carrying out a spot of rock pooling at Longis Beach. Our most impressive find was this Sea Hare grazing on the seaweed. “Take nothing but pictures; leave nothing but footprints; kill nothing but time”

@ScrubUpBritain I’d say it’s a false widow spider. The picture attached are Cave Spiders but they do look quite similar though. These cave spiders were found in an underground chamber
