I don’t know why City are allowed to play matches. They should have been suspended immediately pending their appeal. Some would say that would be farcical but surely no less farcical than allowing a club found guilty by an independent panel to carry on regardless. #Arsenal#COYG
In a parallel universe, Klopp leaves Liverpool with five Premier League titles and Arteta has already won three with Arsenal.
Two of the finest managers of the last decade, representing clubs steeped in history, tradition and class.
Sunderland spent 8 YEARS in the Championship. One season back in the Premier League and they’re already playing in Europe.
Brighton are in Europe.
Bournemouth are in Europe — a club that was practically on its knees when Eddie Howe took over.
Crystal Palace are in Europe AGAIN after beating Manchester City in the FA Cup final.
And somehow we’re still being told the Premier League is a “closed shop”? 😂
Look at what’s happening:
Brighton went 2-0 down to Man United in the Carabao Cup and came back to win 3-2.
Three days later, they absolutely dismantled Arsenal.
Brentford put three past Chelsea that same weekend.
Hull came up from the Championship and have already beaten United and taken a point at Stamford Bridge. They’re sitting 8th.
Where exactly is this “no chance for smaller clubs” argument coming from?
And I genuinely don't understand the “red cartel” argument either.
Arsenal waited 22 years for another league title.
Liverpool have won two league titles in roughly four decades.
United haven't won the Premier League in 13 years.
So what exactly is PSR supposedly protecting these clubs from? 😂
Trophies?
Because over the last decade, the clubs collecting the most silverware have been Manchester City and Chelsea — the same clubs at the centre of major financial-rule controversies.
Yet somehow we're supposed to believe the problem is everyone else.
At some point, you have to take responsibility.
“We had no choice.”
Yes, you did.
Brighton had the same choice.
So did Brentford.
So did Bournemouth.
They built gradually, developed players, recruited intelligently and stayed within the framework.
And now they're competing at the top end of English football.
Maybe the problem isn't that the door is closed.
Maybe some clubs simply don't like the fact that everyone has to walk through the same door now. 😭
PSR hasn't stopped competition.
If anything, look at the clubs breaking through and tell me the competition is dead.
The excuses need to stop. 😤
I know we lost but I still look back at this goal / the celebrations at the screening fondly
I think it’s because it took pens for us to lose / the day after we had an amazing parade
Our time to win the CL is coming and we won’t need to cheat to get it.
Rival fans: omg Arsenal are so boring to watch 😭😭😭
Me: Why in the name of all that’s holy do you watch us then? Personally, I have zero interest in other PL teams, therefore I don’t watch them. See how easy it is? 🤷♀️
Ex-Arsenal goalkeeper Graham Stack explained how David Raya maintains high concentration levels during games, even with little action ✅:
"If you watch Raya really closely, he finds ways to stay busy.
So even if the ball is in and around the opposition box, it'll be close to the halfway line or close to the semi-circle, he’ll be working and moving in relation to where the ball's going to be.
He’ll be anticipating where the ball's going to be played, whether it's down the side or over the top.
He's constantly thinking about the game in front. He's never, ever stood on the edge of his box waiting for something to happen.
He always finds himself in a position where he's on the front foot, expecting what's coming next and sniffs out danger really well.
I think that's probably one reason why he is so good because his concentration levels are so high."
Disappointing that #Wenger didn’t speak about Balogun incident, or about #Infantino & his plans for future WCs. I guess Arsene - present & correct at all the big games & now has to tow party line. Shame - because he could make such a difference. #Arsenal#COYG
I can think of one very striking, very pertinent example of a team that very seriously compromises the idea that 'all teams, in every match, are playing under the same conditions.' You don't get to suddenly pretend that is a priority for FIFA. Just resign.
State of this World Cup.. Air conditioned stadium and they're going for a hydration break so they can run ads just as Japan started cooking.
Momentum gone.
Of course it was never about “hydration breaks” it’s just so Americans can run their stupid ads
Some stadiums have shade and built in aircon, no need for hydration breaks
Max Dowman, 16, is the youngest ever nominee for the PFA Young Player of the Year Award since its introduction in 1973-74. He's also the Champions League youngest ever player, the Premier League's youngest ever goal scorer, and of course, the youngest ever winner. Insane.
Met police have confirmed this is the biggest football parade ever held in the country after drafting in support from Merseyside and Manchester police to help with the celebrations. Estimated 1.5m+.
