It is not a given that the people prevail against today’s odds—real estate capital gobbling our blocks, climate catastrophe devastating our homes, extraction economics wearing on our souls—but if we have a chance, the chance lives in the tenant union. I believe this.
Lots of feelings but I want to say: Jenay ran a campaign that was completely true to her values and vision for the world. If you know Jenay—if you’ve ever heard her speak—you know when I say “her values,” it means a truly transformative, all-power-to-the-people kind of thing.

We want to talk to as many people as we can going through similar situations. We can’t promise to raise money for everyone, but we can come together and demand action. We NEED to come together. If you or anyone you know is going through this please reach out to us!

After demolishing the previous camp behind Johnny's and setting up a new "support" camp that later killed a woman, the city promised the residents they'd never have to move again. Now, every single person will be evicted within the next month.
poor folk are organizing themselves and then the city decides to displace them, breaking up community networks and systems of care. this is an act of violence.
Jennifer Adams’ eyes were red this morning from crying off and on since Friday, when the city issued a batch of eviction notices to people experiencing homelessness at the support camp in North Lawrence.
