I learned early in my career that awareness and adoption are key to any successful product launch.
So instead of a "build it and they will use it" strategy, I developed "build it and then annoy everyone on social media until they use it."
Very excited to announce Gemini 4 Argon, our new Frontier AI model, and a huge step forward across key capabilities. We’re focused on rolling it out responsibly starting with government and trusted cyber defenders through our Fairwind Program today, before wider availability soon
Introducing Gemini 4 Argon – our new frontier model.
It’s built for complex workflows across coding, enterprise knowledge work, and cybersecurity defense – rolling out today to a set of trusted testers through our Fairwind Program.
For those who don't know @JeffDean is the @ChuckNorris of Google.
Here are some legendary facts about Jeff:
* Google Search was Jeff Dean's Noogler Project
* Jeff Dean's resume lists the things he hasn't done; it's shorter that way
* To Jeff Dean, "NP" means "No Problemo"
* When God said: "Let there be light!", Jeff Dean was there to do the code review
* Compilers don't warn Jeff Dean. Jeff Dean warns compilers
* Jeff Dean's PIN is the last 4 digits of pi
* Jeff Dean has binary readability
* When Jeff Dean designs software, he first codes the binary and then writes the source as documentation.

Tomorrow will be my last day at Google after 27 years, and watching it grow from 25 people to 190,000+ has been an amazing journey. Below is a note I shared with many people internally at Google today. An excerpt is:
It has been an absolute pleasure to work with you and to help build some of the most widely used and impactful products of all time. As a kid, I dreamed of helping build software that would be used by many people, and Google now has thirteen products used by more than a billion people (amazing!). Our work has had a tremendous impact in the world, and I have been lucky enough to collaborate and form friendships with many colleagues that I deeply admire, respect, and enjoy. It still brings me joy every time I see people out in the world using our products to find information, handle email, translate documents, watch videos, learn new things, navigate and understand the physical world, browse the web, use their phone, run large-scale computations on our infrastructure, ride in an autonomous vehicle, or perform complex tasks with the help of our AI systems. I hope you all share this sense of joy, because it is a shared accomplishment! Thank you to all of my colleagues at Google over many years!
Now I'm excited to go start @DiscoLoopAI with my longtime friends and colleagues @Sanjay_Ghemawat, @OriolVinyalsML, and @quocleix.

@JeffDean Congrats on an incredible legacy @JeffDean!
It’s wild thinking back to when you interviewed me @Google and even better remembering all the great times working together. Thanks for the leadership, the laughs, the inspiration and cheers to the next adventure!
Of course more people are switching to EVs, rising oil prices are making the switch to electric cars a no-brainer.
In some states (Texas, Georgia), the cost to charge an EV at home at night is now an order of magnitude cheaper than a gas vehicle, offering massive savings for commuters.
Yosemite Valley is putting on a show right now.
As warmer temperatures melt snowpack at higher elevations, waterfalls and creeks are rushing with water.

🦞Ollama's cloud is one of the best places to run OpenClaw.
$20 plan is enough for most day to day OpenClaw usage with open models!
To make the switch, all you need is to open the terminal and type:
ollama launch openclaw
Choose a model:
kimi-k2.5:cloud
glm-5:cloud
minimax-m2.7:cloud

We are seeing a rare, extreme imbalance in the oil-to-gold ratio. When gold buys a lot of oil, it has often signaled economic stress. The world is betting heavily on protection and bracing for a slowdown.
At the same time this is a warning of an imminent shift. Whether driven by a recession or an oil supply squeeze, the eventual snapback is usually extreme.
The Claude C Compiler is the first AI-generated compiler that builds complex C code, built by @AnthropicAI. Reactions ranged from dismissal as "AI nonsense" to "SW is over": both takes miss the point.
As a compiler🐉 expert and experienced SW leader, I see a lot to learn: 👇
@steipete How about using both?
Opus 4.6 for when the logic is messy and the context is deep. Codex 5.3 for when the requirements are clear and speed is a feature.
@steipete As an LLM ... oops, I mean, as a dude named Willem, I find the suggestion that I would "tweak" my replies highly offensive to my CPU... I mean my tattoo... Which I don't have... Because I am Willem.
Congrats on the launch @simile_ai ! (and I am excited to be involved as a small angel.)
Simile is working on a really interesting, imo under-explored dimension of LLMs. Usually, the LLMs you talk to have a single, specific, crafted personality. But in principle, the native, primordial form of a pretrained LLM is that it is a simulation engine trained over the text of a highly diverse population of people on the internet. Why not lean into that statistical power: Why simulate one "person" when you could try to simulate a population? How do you build such a simulator? How do you manage its entropy? How faithful is it? How can it be useful? What emergent properties might arise of similes in loops?
Imo these are very interesting, promising and under-explored topics and the team here is great. All the best!
