ISPs have warned of a threat massive surveillance

Ruto’s govt is continuing with its push for a new law that forces Safaricom, Zuku & every ISP to put an “internet meter” on YOUR connection

This could enable tracking every single site you visit, every second you’re online, and then handing that data straight to the state.

This isn’t about billing. This is about building a digital cage so they can watch activists, journalists, opposition leaders, and anyone who dares criticise them in real time.

One click against the government, and you’re already flagged.

They’re turning the internet into a spy tool while pretending it’s “consumer protection.”

We should speak up now before it’s too late…

🚨 CONCERNING: Kenyan ministries, departments and agencies have spent KSh 76.2 billion leasing office space between July 2015 and March 2026.

With the full 2025/26 figures, that is projected to rise to around KSh 80 billion.

Meanwhile, some government buildings remain empty, underused or are literally falling apart, while billions of taxpayers' money continue to be spent on leasing expensive private offices.

The Auditor-General has also flagged cases of agencies paying for underutilized office space and irregular leasing arrangements.

This is exactly why I've always said Kenya's biggest problem isn't just raising more taxes or borrowing more money, it's stopping waste.

Imagine what KSh 9 billion every year could do if invested in hospitals, schools, clean water, roads or hiring more teachers and healthcare workers instead of avoidable rent.

Every shilling wasted is a shilling that never reaches ordinary Kenyans.

🚨 BREAKING: The Finance Committee led by Kimani Kuria & other UDA MPs has officially rejected a crucial proposal by the Controller of Budget (CoB) to vet, track, and approve withdrawals from the new Sovereign Wealth Fund.

Let this sink in. The CoB’s entire constitutional job is to make sure your tax money isn't misused before it leaves the account. Yet, MPs just voted to block her from having written authorization over these billions.

Look at exactly what they said NO to:

❌ No Written Sign-offs: They rejected letting the CoB approve withdrawals.

❌ Bypassing the Main Account: They refused to route the revenue through the Consolidated Fund first.

❌ Avoiding Full PFM Act Oversight: They blocked the full application of standard public finance accountability laws.

By bypassing Article 228 of the Constitution, this decision turns a national wealth fund into an unaccountable black box.

If the intentions for these billions are pure and there’s nothing to hide, why lock out the COB?

This is a terrifying precedent. What is the real motive behind locking out the nation's top financial watchdog?

Note: This has not been passed by the full Parliament yet. This is the time to speak up strongly; we should push for the CoB to have a meaningful say so that this national fund doesn’t become an accountability black box.
