“Believe Me” is a powerful four-part true-crime drama premiering this May on ITV1 and ITVX.
It tells the harrowing story of John Worboys’ victims, exposing serious systemic failures by the Metropolitan Police and the extraordinary courage of the women who fought for justice.
The licensed black-cab trade rightly condemns Worboys as a monster. His crimes were unforgivable and cannot be minimised — that said, he is an aberration.
While we recognise the failures of 2007–2009, we must also face what is happening right now in the private hire sector . In 2024 - in London alone, TfL revoked 41 PH driver licences for sexual offences.
If there was a systemic failure back then, there is clearly one today.

And they say London’s taxis go the long way round!!
Interesting cut of the video and then suddenly appearing on The Mall, wondering if that was done due to embarrassment 🤔😂
@Royal_Greenwich Thank you.
So I presume the pcn I’ve received and appealed will be cancelled then?
And on another note your appeal process would not allow me to upload proof (vehicle license from TfL)
even though it was below 5mb.
Freedom of Information disclosures from @WolvesCouncil show that in just three months, seventeen allegations of sexual assault or rape were recorded involving Wolverhampton-licensed private hire drivers- and not one of those alleged attacks happened in Wolverhampton.
This is nothing short of a state-enabled safeguarding failure!

Uber has rewritten contracts with drivers outside of London to avoid paying millions of pounds to the Exchequer.
Let’s be clear: Uber’s “agency model” is a scam.
If you control the price, the payment, and the rules, you are the principal- full stop!
This is nothing more than regulatory arbitrage, and Uber should be forced to pay!
@transportgovuk
@InstaVoltUK This doesn’t make sense. As my card on the app is a Mastercard (tide business) and I can’t start a charge. BUT you’ve allowed me to start a charge by tapping the same card on the reader!
I have a discounted rate via the app but now I’m paying more using the same card 🙄
@CabvisionTaxi Agree it’s a terrible number 🙄 however my experience of signing in to TfL consultations etc is not a good experience.
The saved password is ALWAYS incorrect and when I try to reset I NEVER get the email from TfL.
But let’s face it in the end TfL will do what they want anyway.
@AmazonHelp I’m not doing all that. I’m just going to cancel it tomorrow like your app says to and get a refund.
Stop using the useless delivery companies!
Why oh why have Amazon @AmazonHelp started using DPD for their deliveries 🙄
Still waiting for a next day delivery that’s 2 days late and tracking info is just rubbish.
Amazon you used to be so good but now I’m scared to order stuff in case you use DPD.
@FreeNowDrivers is anybody going to have the decency to reply to my 2 emails that I’ve sent in since last Thursday?
Reference numbers 15368229 and 15390346
@1350c@CabvisionTaxi I informed them of 3 points for 24 in a 20 🙄 they did the same and sent a threatening letter referring to me a minicab driver!
I was going to reply and complain but considering I actually informed them late I didn’t want to stir the pot.
