Sometimes, there are other conditions stated in the contract terms that clarifies who owns the leftovers.
I once asked my sheikh about this issue. And he clarified that, the issue of the leftover is about who carries the risk of variations.
True. There are diff forms of contract in the building industry. We have lumpsum, costplus, labour-only, etc. having the materials outlined doesn’t automatically mean the contract is a cost-plus. Sometimes its just for the client to know how the contractor arrived at his figure.
