Trainee Geologists from GSI visited CMPDI.
A team of 28 trainee Geologists from the Geological Survey of India visited the Coal Characterization Laboratory (An NABL accredited laboratory as per ISO/IEC 17025:2017) of CMPDI(HQ), Ranchi on 20.12.2024 to get the first hand impressions of latest industrial trends related to Coal sample preparation and Analysis.
The trainees were briefed about various processes of Chemical and petrographic analysis of coal samples right from the stage of Coal sample crushing, pulverizing to various experimental analysis such as Band by Band analysis, Seam Overall Analysis, GCV, Coking tests such as LTGK analysis, Swelling Index, Fluidity tests, Ash analysis through X Ray Fluorescence and Microscopic maceral study of coal through Coal Petrographic microscopes.
