@PrimaryRocks1@cnesbitt1811 I’m not in leadership but something I really think is missing is prioritising some of the key values we teach children.
Celebrate staff members achievements
Create a safe environment where failure is part of the learning process
Listen and respond without judgement

@MrHeadPrimary Thank you,
Interestingly enough we had an inspection recently and they didn’t speak to the teachers themselves, only Head’s of department.
I was ready to boast about my children’s progress but no luck 🤷🏻♀️
@PrimaryRocks1@LTeacher123 In my setting (severe ASD) it can take weeks or months to be able to understand something in a deep and profound manor.
On top of learning how to manage emotions, sensory needs, physical needs and life skills... the time is so minimal and the coverage is so wide!
@PrimaryRocks1@LTeacher123 Unfortunately, the pressures to cover such a wide range of areas of knowledge really limit the ability to achieve deep and profound learning.

@PrimaryRocks1@LTeacher123 Knowing more and remembering more sounds like ‘deep and profound learning’ to me.
This means learning in different scenarios, situations, with different people and applying that new knowledge in a variety of ways.
I’m a #specialneeds teacher.

Thank goodness, ofsted have left the building... can’t help but feel frustrated that they didn’t visit my class much.
Explains my recent absence 🙈
Anyone else had this feeling or am I a complete anomaly 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️

@PrimaryRocks1 For immediate celebration we clap, cheer and give high fives...
For weekly celebration we have superstars of the week...
For more long term celebration I have a learning journey that pinpoints the key successes of the term.

Would be great to hear some views on this as well as the votes. What do you guys think and importantly what are you promoting in your setting?
I had a discussion about this with a department lead today and we both wondered which way to go after...

Should all classes within a school display work and achievement in the same way for consistency or should we do it based on what is the best way for the individual class?

Today’s touch and taste selection.
Such an amazing program to develop pupils confidence in trying new foods. I rolled this out in the first week and have seen some significant differences and big increases in confidence!

@PrimaryRocks1@ReadingExplorer Last week I enthusiastically asked my youngest pupil if he wanted to be a superstar. He looked me straight in the eyes (extremely rare considering he is autistic) and shook his head with the proudest look on his face.
The whole team burst into laughter!
