My next book signing is on October 31 (Saturday) at the new #barnesandnoble in #mobilealabama on Airport Blvd. The midday time is to be announced. I'll also be doing a children's Halloween 🎃book reading. Any suggestions for spooky weather-themed kids books?
Oftentimes, you see me sharing some of the negative comments on here, but I wanted to take a moment to share one that I really enjoyed reading.
I know being without power has been incredibly difficult for so many people, but I really appreciate this person’s outlook. He’s choosing to make the best of a difficult situation, and I found his perspective refreshing ❤️ #Isaías
Update: We've restored power to nearly 45% of customers in the first 24 hour as crews navigate significant tree damage from Hurricane Isaias. More than 188,000 of our customers have their power back on. We expect 95% of customers affected by the storm to be restored by the end of Monday, with many customers getting power back sooner. Folks have pretty free access to each other digitally nowadays, but it seems like no one thinks perhaps they should ask first? I don't need the calendar spam or daily newsletters.
DAMAGE PHOTOS/REPORTS NEEDED… I am helping our local National Weather Service office put together an archive report about Hurricane Isaias. I would greatly appreciate it if you could help by sending your damage reports/photos here below, even if you have already put them in another one of my posts. PLEASE include the following:
- approximate location (most important!)
- was anyone injured? (hopefully not!)
- short summary of damage you had
GULF UPDATE… I don’t know where stuff like this comes from but I’ve been asked a few times today about another hurricane happening in the Gulf. No tropical storms or hurricanes will happen in the Gulf over the next 7 days. There is precisely ZERO evidence of that. Don’t believe the fake news, clickbait garbage!
SUNNY, NICE SUNDAY… Beautiful weather is happening across the region today. Temperatures will peak in the low to mid 80s. No rain through Thursday.
Have a nice Sunday afternoon!
