A quite excellent start to February, launching the penultimate @clpe1#PowerofReading cohort in a packed #LiteracyLibrary, great Associate School representation — not least facilitator Jacob Wahab — determined attendees all the way from Walsall, and wunderkind @Joetoddstanton!
Our February Author of the Month is the brilliant @OnjaliRauf. Our Y5s already have The Boy at the Back of the Class as one of their class readers so we’re excited to introduce the children to her other novels, short stories and non-fiction
Always a dreamy day spent at CLPE, but yesterday especially with @jejr100 and @joetoddstanton. Also, a special thanks to JTS for mine and @everywhereread’s mysterious dedications… I enjoy the idea of my future classes discovering them with absolutely no context! ✨
Godfather Death: a witty and also somehow darker reimagining of the Grimm tale, literally glowing with Julia Sarda’s illustrations. A suitably spooky read for the start of October ☠️ @Sally_Nicholls ✨
The SC gang doesn’t get out often, so going to the launch of The Final Year (life ruining/ 10/10) at @clpe1 and meeting these guys was a 10/10 way to spend a work night. Thank you and congrats @EarlyTrain @Joetoddstanton (@lauramucha we love you) @everywhereread@stephenjes5 💕
@GalwayMr Becomes depressingly more relevant every day. I’m sure @everywhereread told me she’d told you about it before, but reading Ban this Book by Alan Gratz with my kids gives me faith that the fight will continue 👏🏻
Took me finding the wonderful @katyabalen to realise I’d been sleeping on @BarringtonStoke but my GOD this was a good one. Had to stop reading it before bed last night because it was stressing me out. A masterpiece of tension, and of heart. Absolutely ruined me. @anthony_mcgowan
@RuddickRichard@whatSFSaid This is amazing. My small collection of graphic novels are worn out from being in constant rotation with the kids in my class. If only they had a selection like this 😍🥹
