This lie has been repeated by @JohnTory and his allies/supporters many times. The mayor is only committed to working with people who'll give him what he wants, which is to starve the city of funds so public services deteriorate and he keeps his low tax promise to house owners.
The Greenbelt may seem an abstract thing we’ve taken for granted for a long time.
Walking it reveals it’s precious, beautiful and that we’re very lucky to have it though. It’s worth fighting for with all we’ve got.

Please sign this petition opposing the Premier and Mayor's undemocratic "strong mayor" policy. This provincial legislation would allow the Mayor to force through decisions with the support of as few as 8 councillors, potentially overruling the will of millions of citizens.
Petition: Toronto just elected new progressive & diverse voices across the city. In response, Mayor Tory asked Doug Ford to take away their democratic power, our democratic power, so he can win votes with the support of a minority of council. Take action: https://t.co/Z3ZBug2Hfy

My @TorontoStar column: the city’s photo radar camera on Parkside makes about $250,000 every month, and will remain in place for a while yet.
It’s bad news. These cameras were supposed to lead to real road safety changes. That’s not happening fast enough

“In Finland, the # of homeless people has fallen sharply. Those affected receive a small apartment & counselling with no preconditions. 4 out of 5 people affected make their way back into a stable life. And all this is CHEAPER than accepting homelessness.” https://t.co/EH3reri9lz
The approximate annual cost for the raise requested by CUPE is $264m.

My latest: The Charter of Rights is being dismantled before our eyes. The constitutional bargain of 1982 is unravelling. Time for the feds to get serious.
