@PIAEKGdoc1 Yes agree but I did not have any previous EKGs to compare which I think was the main driving force behind the urgency! You never can be too overly cautious with a RBBB
Dr. Majdoline Jayoushe shares with @vogue why you should take cold showers. “Think of it as a mini ‘shock’ to your system,” she says. Read via @nypost: https://t.co/YCE1Unnyr0
even more reason why pts w/mental health issues need to be followed very closely while #Wegovy#Ozempic GLP-1 RA suppress not just food cravings but other rewarding behaviors in the brain. There is also evidence suggesting these drugs can be neuroprotective https://t.co/olOjmTdMEK
A small number of patients have experienced suicidal thoughts they believe are a side effect of Ozempic and Wegovy.
The family of an Ozempic user that died by suicide believes the drug should come with a warning about self-injury as a potential risk. https://t.co/vRt941jhcF
Post-ingestive nutrient signaling is impaired in individuals w/ obesity and not rescued by 10% wt loss. I need to go deeper into the study, but it provides data to support the dz state is different.

Medicare does not currently cover anti obesity drugs. If that changes, and if effective, these drugs could be a game changer for people who have difficulty losing weight, but the costs to Medicare are unlikely to be trivial. See thread @KhrystaBaig @NEJM

@cindympratiwi @BrownJHM I would avoid prescribing gabapentin with acyclovir I’ve had patients report worsening AEs of gabapentin with the combination (dizziness, hallucinations etc. ) Best to treat with NSAIDs during acute phase and reserve gabapentin use for PHN
Consider this:
#weightloss is NOT the treatment for #obesity
Weight loss is the RESULT of treating obesity
Lifestyle changes, medications, and/or surgery re-wire the homeostatic and hedonic feeding circuits in your brain, which characterize the pathophysiology of obesity
@DrReddyGI@GIDrDon@GI_Pearls@drjerber It’s a good stepping stone for patients who are scared/reluctant to undergo surgery and like many other chronic illnesses, obesity should not be treated any differently: lifestyle modifications -> medical management-> invasive/surgical intervention
What a time to be alive! #tirzepatide the other new kid on the block for treatment of obesity. Results from #SURMOUNT -1 trial. Will be interesting to see results of a head to head trial with Semaglutide
@AllonKahn@SalihSamo@DrMohdZein @MTPapaD Thank you so much for the deep dive and excellent references! Can you elaborate on CYP2C19 metabolizers, is this something PCPs should get familiar with?
