@esthercrawford Just think what it must be like to see so many of your colleagues get swept aside like refuse by someone intent on destroying their and your work but then have to defend only him and his actions but his intentions going forward and pretend that it was a good thing all along.
People complaining about how complicated #MastodonSocial is sound not only stupid but willfully so. Like, they are putting effort into their ignorance and making their opposition to learning something new—written in simple English—an intrinsic part of their identity.
I signed up for Mastodon because some of my friends are signing up. Not sure exactly what I'll do there but you can find me at https://t.co/odIMy5SPfV I'm the one with the chicken on my shoulder
Speaking of features Twitter doesn't have— here are some other perks of joining Mastodon!

✅Server-custom emoticons
✅Auto-delete posts option
✅Extended notification bar (see image)
✅500 character limit
✅Advanced post filter system
✅Content warnings
& more!
Mastodon is not difficult-we do dozens of more complicated things daily. People are just deliberately, willfully stupid. If you don't understand Mastodon and complain about it, it means you don't want to understand it, and would rather complain.
As a procrastinator it was always gonna take me ages to sign up for some Twitter alternative site. And now seeing dozens of people complaining about how complicated signing up for Mastodon is, I fear I may just stay here till I get kicked off or the site shuts down.
For anyone wondering, Mastodon got over 70K sign-ups yesterday alone. Let's keep the momentum going! The "public square" of the web must not belong to any one person or corporation!
@evanstnlyjones @esthercrawford I fondly remember pulling all nighters with my team in the early days. It created such strong bonds and memories. It’s exhilarating to be part of something meaningful that takes every inch of you to achieve. Well done 👏🏻
The number of people who switched over to #Mastodon in the last week alone has surpassed 230 thousand, along with many returning to old accounts bumping the network to over 655 thousand active users, highest it's ever been!

@WFKARS Mastodon is great but it does take some getting used to. It has some really great content moderation tools—like you can choose who gets to see a post and how far it goes in the wider network.
Once again, people should be checking out https://t.co/loUlJO8lR6. There are a lot of good reasons to do so but, perhaps the best one lately is, as it's decentralized and therefore impossible to take over, can never be the property of a megalomaniac with delusions of grandeur.
So, @TheOnion filed an amicus brief before the Supreme Court in defense of parody under the First Amendment… and it’s exactly what you’d expect. https://t.co/1JFfSqUJFA
One of the most profound things I read in my original journey to ADHD diagnosis was what Dr. Ned Hallowell calls “the cough drop sign” in the book, Driven To Distraction.
I’d never felt more seen before reading this quote.
It comes from one of Hallowell’s ADHD patients:
