@LaLegale @tezlefty@billybragg He doesn’t accept MMT. He doesn’t know MMT.
Ironically, he described MMT processes accurately in 2020 senate estimates whilst railing against MMT
@LaLegale @bollgare@billybragg Matt is wrong about MMT being crypto-centric and shell money is more culturally specific. Read more about it here https://t.co/CqZIrVAacq
MMT is ‘money-centric’, usually shows a preference for Fiat
Can't help put wonder if the white western patriarchy is aligned against MMT because it is a unified group of women, Jews, Muslims, Africans, Chinese, etc
@LaLegale @WittaTwitta @AlboMP@JEChalmers It allowed more policy choice than having to worry about a fixed exchange (currency) rate. Instead of having a buffer stock of gold or US dollars, it was allowed to concentrate on need rather than gold or USD. What happened on the home front is what gave the Aussie $ it's value
Shameful: ‘…the green lighting of what commissioner Catherine Holmes described as the “criminalising” of all robo-debt recipients. Parts of the media were ready players in this smear.’

@SHamiltonian@ZacGross Depends on where they target & also if you assume all inflation is demand-pull inflation as economists from the new monetary consensus typically do.
@ZacGross@SHamiltonian What about meso? Especially given that inflation is a redistribution and currently the macro says it is effecting one group harder than another thus kind of making it micro but also not micro at the same time. Macro & Meso considerations should always be first order
@LaLegale @fehowarth@AlboPM@AusMMT Bit set in his ways. He thinks the costs of the debt, NDIS, Defence etc are too much. Think in terms of real resources. Carers, doctors, etc for NDIS.
No one wants it rolled into DES either. Undermines its point.
@LaLegale @KimCarrera007@JEChalmers @aljones42 MMT is primarily a synthesis of Post-Keynesian economics & then I named some post-keynesian economists. That's all.
