“The films are trying to stress the idea that everything is interconnected. I like to make movies that are complex, but it’s not obvious to most people unless they start digging into it. Most people don’t realize it and can’t grasp the whole entity because they’re focusing on…
@matpolloy@Slashycent True, but Anakin was trained as a Jedi when he was about 10 years old though. That’d certainly cause differences in his development. Especially since Padme was someone he was crushing on for years before their reunion.
@matpolloy@Slashycent He’s basically saying that her skin represents the calm and peaceful nature of Naboo in contrast to Tatooine. I can admit that the performance is monotone for that line, but the body language strikes me as awkward but bold.
@matpolloy@Slashycent I should probably do a character analysis on characters like Anakin some day. The line regarding sand seems like it’s supposed to be Anakin’s awkward but bold attempt at flirting. It also signifies their childhoods as being opposite to each other. He’s basically saying…
@thrasher_night@matpolloy@Slashycent I agree that this thread has gotten out of hand. I did unfortunately get the sentiment that ‘art belongs the viewer’ from PJ though. Also ‘the curtains are just blue!’
@matpolloy@Slashycent Eh, I definitely feel like there’s more to the visual storytelling of the prequels than that of Cat in the Hat. Lol. If you want to know why there are people that like it much more than ‘Cat in the Hat’ just look at when fans attempt to analyze certain scenes from those films.
@dialecticalsaba I don’t like this either, the way the stormtroopers are moving around looks more clunky than usually and it looks like they’re not even trying to fight back.
@self_resid29444@dndoubletwo@Pmetz1864@Jimbobjeffe@matpolloy Double is correct in saying that the finished scripts were not mainly written by Lucas, the outlines were, and story ideas were discussed, but the stories evolved through discussions with the assigned writer of course.
@Brokowski25 I get the original intention were realistic visuals that were stylized due to hardware limitations, but I prefer the lighting and background visuals from the original shot regarding Joel than the newer one personally. I played ‘remake’ first btw.
@Slashycent@matpolloy It is possible that the person may have a degree of social chauvinist tendencies toward media even if they aren’t an actual social chauvinist?
@JasonSokol3@SlyPSmythe I believe it is actually. I for one don’t like The Last Jedi either. “He would bring pain and destruction upon everything I loved…”. Clearly Leia and Han were involved in the visions too. One of which seemingly came true through his own actions.
@OrangeHat2185 Uhh. Not the Sequel Era of the EU though at least. I’m not denying they were canon to Lucas Licensing and Lucasfilm’s property officially, but clearly they could be overridden at any point by Lucas.
@JacobKenne92848 I would’ve already been uncomfortable if it was a S1 animated Ahsoka TCW figurine, but the live action S1 TCW era figurine makes me feel repulsion. Regardless of intent, a real child’s likeness is being used as a monetized item in my mind at that point.
This is where the fun begins.
From the plaza of the Lucas Museum, visitors are greeted by the original N-1 Starfighter that was used in Star Wars: Episode I, featuring R2-D2 in position to pilot the craft and welcome you to the museum.

@SlyPSmythe@KenobiStig He didn’t directly discuss things with Lucas the whole time, but Lucas did want Plagueis to look right at least. Howard also indicated that they were approved ‘at highest level’ https://t.co/MrXL76WOTc
@SlyPSmythe@KenobiStig Also I think him describing his daughter’s writings emphasizes his focus on TCW version of the Dathomir witches than anything else. As for Luceno, his primary communication with Lucas was through Howard actually. https://t.co/FH4OMW3l89
@mightydudbolt Right. This is why people should look at these films more through the lens of visual storytelling it would seem. Cause Lucas was intent on making these function as “silent” films with the musical score underlying everything.
