I was so shocked when I got to hear of this. When I was in med school in my earlier years before majoring in IT, our senior attending trained us to always pocket because we always struggled with where to keep our hands and keep them from infection.

Have you ever wondered why healthcare practitioners working in infested environment never carry infections from patient to patient?

This is because of the practice of keeping their hands to their pockets, not even touching themselves

This is professional restraint and it takes time to master.

WordPress Campus Connect continues to grow across Central and Eastern Uganda, and we are excited to welcome St. Denis Ssebuggwawo SS Ggaba into the journey.

With every new school, we are creating more opportunities for students to discover WordPress, build practical digital skills, explore open source, create their first websites, and see how technology can support their education, careers, ideas, and communities.

As we move into the next phase of Campus Connect, we are also working to make the experience richer for the students we meet. That means going beyond the session itself and connecting learners to resources and opportunities they can continue using afterward.

We are therefore inviting partners and supporters to help us strengthen the upcoming school engagements through student opportunities, print materials, internet support, laptop stickers, domains and hosting, mentorship, learning resources, internships, and other practical benefits for learners.

WordPress Campus Connect is continuing its journey across Central and Eastern Uganda, and today we are engaging students at Uganda Martyrs University in a practical session around WordPress, open source, digital skills, and opportunities on the web.

The focus is on helping students move from simply using the internet to actually building with it.

Throughout the session, participants will explore how WordPress can support personal portfolios, school and community projects, digital publishing, business ideas, freelancing, and future careers in technology.

One of the most exciting parts of Campus Connect is seeing students realise that they do not need to wait until they are experts before they begin creating. With the right guidance, tools, and community, they can start building now.

Today is about learning, experimenting, asking questions, and opening doors to what is possible with WordPress.

WordPress confidence moved from 18.4% before the session to 78.9% after.

Students are asking for more than training. They want internships, courses, domains & hosting, mentorship, freelancing opportunities, and community pathways.
