After more than 30 years of research funded by Breakthrough T1D, we have arrived at a historic moment. Today, teplizumab has been licensed for use in the UK by the MHRA.🚨

This breakthrough treatment is the first of its kind to delay the onset of type 1 diabetes (T1D) in people at high risk of developing the condition. It represents a seismic shift in how we think about T1D and approach its treatment.

MHRA approval is a critical milestone, and now teplizumab must go through the NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) technology appraisal process.
