The interns' delegation met the Health Minister @sakinaitoo today, She assured that the stipend order will be issued this week, stating that honouring her commitment is now a matter of credibility. We made it clear that protests will resume next Monday if the order is not issued.

An intern delegation is meeting the Health Minister at the Secretariat regarding the stipend issue. As per reports,the Principals of GMCs are also present.
Media channels are requested to cover an immediate press conference around 3:30 to 4 PM today following the meeting.

The Health Minister of Jammu & Kashmir @sakinaitoo must either implement the promised stipend hike for MBBS/BDS interns or take moral responsibility for her government's failure to honour its own commitments.

During the meeting held on 8 September 2026 between intern representatives and the Health Minister, her OSD, categorically stated: “My words are the words of the government. I am the government right now.” He further assured the representatives that the written assurance signed by him represented the government's commitment.

However, during a subsequent meeting on the 30th day of that assurance, the same officer reportedly took a contradictory position, stating that he was merely an employee and could not say when the government would implement the promised stipend hike.

How can an assurance be presented as the government's commitment when it is time to persuade interns to call off their strike, only for responsibility to be disowned when it is time to deliver?

The 30-day deadline has expired, yet the government has failed to honour its written assurance. MBBS and BDS interns cannot be expected to trust endless promises while their legitimate demands remain unresolved.

The Health Minister must act now. Implement the stipend hike without further delay or take moral responsibility for the failure to deliver on her government's word.

Enough of assurances. Enough of excuses. We demand implementation, not another round of hollow promises.
