Prof Tankiso Moloi's advise to youngsters: ‘I would say own your unique path, what matters is how you leverage it. Another is that you must prioritize adaptability: technical skills get you in the door, but strategic thinking and emotional intelligence build careers. Lastly, seek to solve real problems. Prof Tankiso Moloi, Executive Dean: College of Business and Economics welcomes guests with an impactful speech on social media.
"This summit will help you thrive. As public sector communicators, you are the voice of government."
Congratulations to Prof Tankiso Moloi and Dr Varaidzo Denhere on their upcoming book Driving Change: Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) in sub-Saharan Africa.
ESG considerations have become central to discussions on corporate responsibility and sustainable investment. However, much of the existing discourse, research, and policy development remains focused on the Global North, with limited attention given to ESG practices in sub-Saharan Africa. This volume addresses this gap by examining ESG strategies, policies, and implementation in selected African countries, including South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, and Zimbabwe.
Authored by African scholars, this book provides a comprehensive analysis of ESG frameworks, regulatory environments, corporate governance structures, and sector-specific applications across the region. It explores the intersection of ESG and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the role of financial markets, and the challenges and opportunities of ESG integration in key industries such as mining and energy. Additionally, it considers the impact of emerging technologies in advancing ESG practices.
