🇨🇦 Canada, we believed you were different.
A country where human rights mean something. Where people are heard. Where innocent families can hope for a future.
Please hear us now.
Compulsory service was not a choice. Compassion and fairness are.
Be the Canada we trusted. Stand with innocent families.

For more than three days, Iran has been cut off from the world. Internet shut down. Landlines and mobile phones disconnected. Nearly 90 million people taken hostage by the regime.
When silence is enforced like this, we fear the worst. We fear that grave crimes are happening out of sight, with no witnesses and no accountability.
Many of us outside Iran are living in constant anxiety, unable to reach our loved ones, knowing that no one is truly safe as long as this brutal regime remains in power.
We are one soul in different bodies.
One pain. One hope. One Iran.
As former conscripts—people who were oppressed, threatened, and humiliated by this regime—we know how much unity matters in moments like this. We know what silence enables.
Those of us outside Iran will not be silent. We will continue to be the voice of those inside, to amplify the truth, and to demand international attention and action.
We stand together.
For the people of Iran.
Until this darkness ends.

Western countries say they stand with the Iranian people, but then turn around and punish young men for compulsory service forced on them by the regime. Hurting victims while claiming to support them makes zero sense.

@smeurrens@hq_cpc@GarnettGenuis Thank you for speaking up for innocent conscripts. As Iranians, we have suffered enough in our own country and have never experienced justice. We expect Canada to treat innocent conscripts fairly and pass Bill C-350 to exempt them.

Borderlines Podcast #235 - IRGC Conscripts Face Deportation. @hq_cpc MP @GarnettGenuis has a Solution.
Canada designated Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization in 2024. But what happens to people who were forced to serve in the IRGC through mandatory military conscription, committed no crimes, and later immigrated to Canada?
We are joined by Conservative Member of Parliament Garnett Genuis to discuss the growing immigration crisis facing former IRGC conscripts and their families. In 2023, Genuis introduced Bill C-350, which proposed amending Canada's Immigration and Refugee Protection Act to distinguish between individuals who voluntarily joined terrorist organizations and those who were forcibly conscripted.
The proposed amendment would protect individuals who completed only their mandatory service, did not remain voluntarily, and did not participate in terrorism, espionage, or subversion. Despite the subsequent designation of the IRGC as a terrorist organization, this proposed legislative solution was never adopted. The discussion explores why the government has not acted, the consequences of Canada's current inadmissibility framework, the limitations of judicial review and humanitarian relief, and what affected individuals can do to advocate for legislative reform.

@CanadaFP Canada must establish clear, official guidelines for IRCC and CBSA to differentiate between compulsory conscription and voluntary IRGC membership.
