@ProvisionistP If you dont guard your hearts the world will entice you to stray from the straight and narrow. Satan can't make you do anything but we have a free will and we can go astray if we're not careful. New testament warns us about this a lot.
@Pastor_ChrisH Chris, any court of law assumes any criminal guilty of his crime could have and should have done otherwise. That is not even debatable in my view
@rootcausesleuth@DBJ540@CooperGMacBride@Pastor_ChrisH In 1978 the Supreme Court said in the case of United States vs Grayson that determinism is inconsistent with the precepts of the American justice system. They presume freedom of the will aka LFW the ability to do other than what was done
@JosiahHuggins1@Soteriology101 So are we going to pretend the bible is not filled with scripture telling men to humble themselves because that's what your saying right? Man can't freely humble themselves and turn away from sin which the bible very plainly tells every human being to do?
@blake_cannon10 This may be a dumb question but are you saying the sin we commit no matter how big or small would be in God's plan and we can't do otherwise?
@OwnYourWrldview@Soteriology101 I think you're assuming God saves a person arbitrarily and then would take it away arbitrarily. There are lots of scripture that says God changes mind according to what we do so if we profess allegiance to Him He will grant salvation. If we rebel unrepentant He might take it away
@WordProvesTrue@Soteriology101 that's the point of contention tho a non calvinist (me) actually think anybody can be saved. A calvinist doesnt. Its not what a calvinist does or doesnt say in evangelism its what they actually believe. If you have to hide your doctrine so its not a turn-off to peopleπ¬
@blake_cannon10@1984_nate Which is why I have no problem going to a reformed church even tho I disagree with some doctrine that I think is a secondary issue
@blake_cannon10@1984_nate Well long story but i know no matter where I go to church i know im not gonna agree with every view that the church has most likely. I love the people and leadership and i agree with 90% of what the pastor preaches and i respect the pastor and i think he has heart of a shepherd.
@blake_cannon10@1984_nate Yep that is possible but I do go to a reformed church who do teach reformed theology and in my years there ihave seen the confusion it can cause to believers who are trying to grapple with biblical text in light of calvinism.
@blake_cannon10@1984_nate Respectfully I am sure you're much more read then I am though I have read a couple and bits and pieces of others. None of those really amount to a whole lot if what I read (interpret)in the bible is what i believe is contrary to what your systematic says.
