Haissem Hassan, born on 8 February 2002 in Bagnolet, Paris, France, plays as a forward for Real Oviedo. was included in Egypt's World Cup squad without completing a sporting nationality switch from France @FFF, which he represented in eight official matches, including five at the FIFA U-17 World Cup and three in the UEFA European U-17 Championship qualifiers.

The presence of Haissem Hassan for Egypt @EgyptNT_EN against Australia in the Round of 32, and his registration for the tournament beforehand, despite the Egyptian federation @EFA not having completed the FIFA process to change his sporting nationality after he obtained an Egyptian passport, raises serious and troubling questions about the effectiveness of the mechanisms used to monitor and approve national team squads.

How did this case pass through the world's biggest football tournament under FIFA's own supervision, when the organization has acted with great firmness in similar cases in the past ?

​ويرى متتبعون للشأن المغاربي أن هذه الممارسات الإعلامية تعكس إشكا��ية أعمق تتجاوز حدود الرياضة. فب��لاً من استثمار الثروات والمقدرات الوطنية الهائلة في تحقيق التنمية الشاملة والارتقاء بالمجتمع، تبدو بعض الأطراف هناك أسيرة لـ "عقلية الستينيات"؛ حيث تواصل هدر طاقاتها في محاولة ترسيخ عقيدة العداء للمغرب، جاعلةً منها محوراً أساسياً لوجودها وتوجهاتها، على حساب قضايا التنمية والتحديث الداخلي.
