John Jay Osborn Jr., who wrote the novel "The Paper Chase" while attending Harvard Law School, has died at 77. His best-known book became a film, with an Oscar-winning performance by John Houseman, and later a TV series. https://t.co/u3GdqOXUfC
@SFUnified How much $$ is @SFUnified paying this third party service to spam parents? Also, definitely didn’t sign up, but have been diligently providing my feedback.
@SFUnified, WTH telling us to teach our kids math by looking at a TV remote?! Guess better than looking at a screen for the better part of 2 years? We have a long way to go to recover from remote learning…(pun intended).
@SFUrbanForester Hello! I put in an application for a sidewalk garden a few weeks ago. Do you have a general response time? We would be so excited to be part of this program!
@momenyl So, you have to wash all the sheets and towels even if it’s only one night. That takes someone at least half a day, and up to 6 hours depending how many loads you have to run. $200 is pretty standard for that amount of time cleaning.
@momenyl I think I agree with your husband! I went to a friend’s bday party like this when I was in 7th grade. Two rooms because boys were invited and the mom slept in the boys’ room (because they were more trouble).
Votes to elect Chesa Boudin in 2019:
* First choice: 68,805 (13.9% of voters)
* After RCV elimination: 86,712 (17.5% of voters)
Votes to recall Chesa Boudin in 2022:
* 101,112 (20.4% of voters)
* 44k ballots to count
By far more people voted to recall Boudin than voted him in.
Perspective: “Red flag” laws are some of the strongest tools we have to stop gun violence before it starts.
But SF is lagging behind other cities in using these laws, write Supervisor @SupStefani and City Attn. @DavidChiu.
That needs to change.

School openers (scientists & parents alike) in California had pushback when writing about this since school openings not the dominant position early on; however, CA (being 50 out of 50 in US in school openings) has suffered in education as a result

I’m so excited about these new BOE members. I know Lainie a little, and I’m so impressed with her commitment to the schools and mastery of our complicated schools budgeting system. It’s so refreshing to have these @SFUnified parents at the table!
Today I appointed Ann Hsu, Lainie Motamedi, and Lisa Weissman-Ward to the School Board. We need to focus on delivering on the basic services our residents deserve, and I know these three women will be intensely focused on meeting the urgent needs of our kids and our schools.

“Based on the science, the kids-last approach makes no sense. Kids should face fewer restrictions than their parents, not more.” https://t.co/pXirYtd86M
@nhannahjones@GaneshIsHere I think your point is that we should be hearing more news about the school boards that are trying to whitewash American history. I agree. Just by way of comparison, @SFUnified passed an ethnic studies requirement last year. It wasn’t controversial at all. https://t.co/kRRLAiRcjb
Yesterday I found a dead chicken. Today, I found a live cat roaming upper Dolores wearing a harness and trailing a leash. There was no one around so I took him home. He’s going to @sfspca in the am. #sftalesofthecity
