This is the story of 3 college roomies who skipped corporate jobs to build heavy duty unmanned ground vehicles for the armed forces.

Vasanth, Vibhakar & Vignesh right out of SRM University in 2019 ​founded Torus Robotics in Chennai.

The trio designed & built MARS (Mobile Autonomous Robotic System), a fully electric, tracked Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) engineered to operate in extreme conditions, like the high-altitude terrain of Ladakh where human reconnaissance is dangerous.

They indigenously developed ultra-lightweight electric powertrains that were 50% lighter & 15% more efficient than imported components, giving these mini-tanks the torque & range needed to carry loads & disarm explosive threats using onboard robotic arms.

​DRDO & BEML partnered with them to integrate AI-driven autonomous ground robotics directly into Indian defense capabilities.

MARS is capable of being fitted with modular payloads, including remote weapon stations/mounted gun turrets.

It is also built specifically to safely detect, identify, & dispose of IEDs & landmines from a remote distance of up to 1 KM.

Waist-To-Height Ratio (WHtR) is superior to Body Mass Index (BMI) and Waist Hip Ratio *WHR) in its ability to predict future risk of cardiovascular diseases (such as heart attack and stroke) and premature mortality.

✅WHtR of <0.5 is considered normal.

🔸Pitfalls of BMI: BMI does not differentiate between weight due to fat, muscle, bone or body fluids.
A person with good muscle bulk could have a higher BMI, as compared to a skinny person with excess abdominal & visceral fat.

🔸LDL-C levels are often measured to assess the future risk of CVDs. Calculating triglyceride:HDL-C ratio can add more value.

✅TG:HDL ratio of below 2 is considered ideal.
🔴A ratio above 3 is considered high.

Good to see Delhi Police deploying sophisticated technology for modern policing. 360° cameras, AI facial recognition and mobile command centres can dramatically expand enforcement capacity.

A lot of casual thuggery by malcontents masquerading as 'students' or even criminality thrives on the assumption that policing is weak and offenders won't be identified.
