@profplum99@smarketdynamics@FTC having spent some years in the biz, the juxtaposition of very smart people in trading somehow coupled with the requirement to use Windows for trading, will always be a great enigma to me
in other fields, smart people know not to use Windows for anything other than gaming
I think being a quant is a hellava way to waste intelligence (feel I can throw these stones, having spent 2 years working in HFT)
your life's work should be about building or improving things that push humanity along, positive-sum stuff.
Trading is none of that (and no "we help the world by providing liquidity and tightening spreads!"), but can be selfishly useful to get a bunch of coin to then use on starting something real
