@oldhockeycards For some strange reason, most of the other arenas chose to hang Stanley Cup banners instead. Good on Buffalo for not following the crowd.
@chopshopboys@VGKHockeyFreak The great fire of Calgary in 1886 caused significant damage to the downtown and changed the building requirements for large buildings. This was the reason that the name was retained.
@TedFran03073128@henna_yyc If things are so wonderful and net migration is booming, wouldn't it be interesting to understand why the people who are leaving have decided to leave?
@fortnitall@FlamesNation Ownership doesn't want a proper rebuild, so the only way to get the high picks they desperately need without teaching young players a losing mentality is for management and coaches to make "questionable" roster/coaching decisions while waiting for the right trades to come along.
@FlamesForums@FierySharky Except that they weren’t. The Montreal Maroons beat the Victoria Cougars in 1926, the New York Rangers beat the Maroons in 1928, and the Maroons beat the Maple Leafs in 1935, all with the series winning game at the Forum.
@CofRedCentral Well, at least you admit that you and the other Flames media wannabes are a bunch of whiners. As far as having any influence on the extension, you’re all delusional. Correlation does not equal causation.
@RingOfFireCGY What a crock!!! Any whining by the Flames media wannabes and their tiny following had absolutely nothing to do with the deal getting done. Your sense of self importance is highly overrated.
@RingOfFireCGY Kadri might score which is the opposite of what a tanking organization would want to do. It was bad enough that they got the single point.
@blanksCyy@Veer976@CofRedCentral I believe you mean decades (plural) long. Other than a couple of times where someone dropped in their laps in the first round (Monahan and Tkachuk) and a long shot in the 4th round (Gaudreau) who the GM didn’t want to take, the drafting was atrocious since Fletcher left in 1991.
@mukmuk0001 Imagine thinking that rebuilds should take less than two years. Just spitballing here, but I wonder if the Ducks starting their rebuild five years before the Flames might have something to do with it.
