🇺🇸 US Green Card Process ல பெரிய தடையா? Indian IT Employees க்கு என்ன ஆகும்?

October 8 அன்று US Labor Department ஒரு முக்கியமான அறிவிப்பு வெளியிட்டிருக்கிறது.

Cognizant, Infosys, TCS, Wipro, HCLTech, Capgemini உள்ளிட்ட பெரிய IT Companies க்கு PERM programme வழியாக Green Card sponsorship process செய்ய தற்காலிக தடை வந்திருக்கிறது. Microsoft, Adobe வும் wider action ல இருக்கிறது.

Headline மட்டும் பார்த்தா... US Indian IT Employees ஐ வெளியே அனுப்பப் போகுதா? H-1B cancel ஆயிடுமான்னு பயம் வரலாம்.

அப்படியில்ல.

PERM ன்னா என்ன? அது ஒரு Employment based Green Card process.

பொதுவா: H-1B → PERM → I-140 → Green Card ன்னு போகும். இதுல PERM தான் முக்கியமான ஆரம்ப stage. இப்ப affected Companies க்கு அந்த stage ல தான் தடை.

அதாவது:

- Existing H-1B cancel இல்லை.
- Existing Green Card cancel இல்லை.
- Company USல business செய்ய தடை இல்லை.

ஆனா Green Card process புதுசா ஆரம்பிக்கிறவங்களுக்கும், PERM pending ல இருக்கிறவங்களுக்கும் இது பெரிய delay ஆகலாம்.

🇮🇳 இந்தியர்களுக்கு ஏன் இது முக்கியம்?

Indian employeesக்கு Green Card backlog ஏற்கனவே பெரியது.

October 2026 Visa Bulletin தகவலின்படி:

EB-2 India → November 2013
EB-3 India → January 2014

Simple ஆ சொன்னா, November 2013 / January 2014 என்பது அந்தக் காலத்துல application போட்டவங்களுக்கு தான் இப்ப Green Card final approval turn வந்திருக்கிறதுன்னு roughly புரிஞ்சுக்கலாம்.

இதுல முக்கியமான வார்த்தை Priority Date. ஒரு Employer உங்களுக்காக Green Card process ஆரம்பிக்கும்போது ஒரு Priority Date கிடைக்கும். அது basically queue ல உங்க இடம்.

October 2026 Visa Bulletin ல:
EB-2 India → November 2013
EB-3 India → January 2014 ன்னு இருந்தா, generally அந்த cutoffக்கு முன்னாடி Priority Date உள்ளவர்களின் cases தான் final Green Card approval க்கு move ஆக முடியும்.

இது waiting time prediction இல்லை. Priority date cutoff மட்டும். ஆனா backlog எவ்வளவு நீளமா இருக்குன்னு புரியும்.

5 வருடமா H-1Bல வேலை பார்க்குற ஒருத்தருக்கு இப்போதான் PERM ஆரம்பிக்கணும்னு இருந்தா, Long Term US plan இன்னும் uncertain ஆகலாம்.

Immediateஆ US விட்டு போகணும்ன்னு அர்த்தம் இல்லை. ஆனா H-1B extension, employer change, pending PERM, I-140 status எல்லாத்தையும் case by case ஆ பார்க்க வேண்டியிருக்கும்.

💻 IT நிறுவனங்களுக்குக்கு இதனால என்ன Impact?

Revenue நாளைக்கே நின்னுடாது. US Clients க்கு service கொடுக்கலாம். India விலிருந்து offshore முறையில work பண்ணலாம். ஆனா Employee Retention கஷ்டமாகலாம். Local Hiring அதிகரிக்கலாம். Staffing Cost கூடலாம்.

அதே நேரம்... US onsite க்கு Employees கொண்டு போக கஷ்டமா இருந்தா, இன்னும் அதிகமான வேலை India க்கு shift ஆகவும் வாய்ப்பு இருக்கு. அதனால இது முழுக்க Negativeன்னு இப்பவே சொல்ல முடியாது.

📉 IT Stocks க்கு?

Short Termல Volatility வரலாம்.

Infosys, Wipro ADRகள் October 8 US trading ல சுமார் 3% intraday pressure பார்த்தது. ஆனா அந்த fall முழுசும் இந்த immigration news னால மட்டும் வந்தது ன்னு சொல்ல முடியாது. Earnings மற்றும் broader IT concerns கூட இருந்தது.

இந்த செய்தியை: US Indian IT Companies ஐ Ban பண்ணிட்டதுன்னு புரிஞ்சிக்காதீங்க.

சரியான புரிதல்: சில பெரிய Employers க்கு Green Card sponsorship ல முக்கியமான PERM route suspend ஆயிருக்கு.

- Employees க்கு இது serious.
- Companies க்கு staffing மற்றும் cost issue.
- Indian IT stocks க்கு sentiment problem.

ஆனா இதை வைத்து Indian IT industry collapse ன்னு சொல்லுறது ரொம்ப அதிகம்.

Headline மட்டும் பார்க்காதீங்க மக்களே. எந்த Rule மாறியிருக்கு? யாரை பாதிக்குது? என்ன மாறல? இந்த மூன்றையும் பார்த்துதான் முடிவு பண்ணுங்க.
