@rob_marchant I think he thinks it's a low cost way of throwing the left a bone. But he ignores the ways in which anti-Israel sentiment fuels antisemitism (as well as being fuelled by it), despite his platitudes.
@JoshuaGarfield I avoided leaving because I couldn't face the battle. Was very glad, after our area got CityFibre, to discover virgin fibre services had been brought in to scope of switching - so I was able to leave them without ever talking to them.
@HenMazzig Well she was an indigenous Jewish woman giving birth under Roman occupation, but the occupied area in question had not yet been incorporated into the Roman colony after which Palestine is name, so I guess they are half right.
Just been lectured on a local FB group about not being a proper gay if I'm not left wing. (I am, but not as left as they meant.) Then, predictably, came the Apartheid libel. These people are so predictable.
@RosieDuffield1 The Chaplain of Jesus College, Cambridge in the early 90s, the incredible Ros Hunt, pointed out to me how male animal terms were generally positive and female ones negative (He's a right old dog Vs She's a bitch, for example). This has stayed with me.
How much will it cost to turn his personal house into a building secure enough for the Prime Minister’s family to live in and to hold secure meetings in and to have some kind of visitor screening?
@Joanne13Harding The Labour Group on my local Council don't take any of the increases that have been awarded over recent years. Only people willing to sign up to this get approved as potential candidates. They just can't see how regressive this is.
