I'll interject here:
Two things can be true:
Howard Schultz is a backstabbing two faced clown who betrayed an entire city.
He's also right about Seattle's current business landscape.
Here’s my POSITIVE ad for the FINAL week. This one’s a minute long because I had too much to say to fit into thirty seconds! Let me know what you think. If you like it and want to help me broadcast it, please chip in here: https://t.co/r10M5btnhD
Love Massie or hate him, I don’t really care, but his opponent is hiding from debates and using AI to write all his posts. The definition of an empty suit who will say anything his donors tell him to. That’s not what we should expect from a primary challenger.
The Afroman Trial.
-Cops raid Afromans house for bullshit reasons.
-Steal money, break his door, fuck his house up.
-No criminality found whatsoever, no charges at all pressed on Afroman.
-Afroman spends the next 3 years making songs that make fun of all the officers involved by name, even using footage of the raid from his own CCTV cameras.
-Songs had titles like "Randy Walters is a son of a bitch" and "Lick Em Low Lisa" accusing one of the officers of being a lesbian and sleeping with the other officers wives.
-During the raid one officer looked like he was about to eat some lemon pound cake sitting on Afromans counter, Afroman made a whole album calling the officer fat.
-The cops get mad and file a lawsuit for defamation.
-Afroman turns up to court in a whole American flag suit.
-Officers performatively mald and cry while listening to the songs really trying to oversell how badly the songs upset them.
-One officer was suing because Afroman made a whole song about him saying he was fucking the officers wife. When the officer was asked if Afroman was really fucking his wife, he said "I don't know". Nuking his own case and establishing that there is a non-zero chance that Afroman might actually be fucking his wife.
-As his only witness for the trial, Afroman brought a deputies EX FUCKING WIFE.
-The jury ruled completely in favour of Afroman.
This entire thing has been a great win for free speech and absolutely fucking hilarious.
Look, I realize we live in a divided culture. But can't we all agree - regardless of one's political ideology, religion, race, sexual orientation, etc. - that the Mariners need to bring back this fucking relief pitcher boat?
The state should not discriminate against consenting adults regarding marriage. If it wants to get out of the marriage game altogether, great. But until then, two individuals should be able to get married and have the same benefits as any other pair. Obergfell was long overdue.
Here’s a thread for folks who are just now realizing—or suspecting, correctly—that our criminal justice system (into which we can fairly lump law enforcement orgs like ICE and CBP) is fundamentally broken and profoundly pathological. I believe it boils down to three things:
/1
The topic of immigration enforcement is like the right’s version of Covid hysteria.
“What, do you want millions of Americans to die from illegal immigrants?”
“Just obey orders and you’ll be fine. Do your part.”
“Your rights aren’t absolute. Government officials are acting lawfully, and you don’t have the right to undermine their efforts.”
“Stay home when DHS is in your area if you don’t want to be stopped and questioned.”
“You need to carry and show your papers when you go out. It’s for everyone’s safety.”
“Trust the experts! These former DOJ prosecutors say the Fourth Amendment allows exactly this.”
“Stop spreading misinformation about ICE and CBP. Your words are dangerous and will get more people killed!”
“This is an emergency. I don’t care what the government does. We need to stop the spread of foreigners.”
“The Constitution isn’t a suicide pact.”
When Democrats are in power, libertarians get called right-wingers.
When Republicans are in power, libertarians get called liberals.
We're the ones consistently calling out authoritarianism.
They're the ones with blinders on half the time, when their side has control.
I've watched video of the shooting of Alex Pretti, from two angles.
I saw no justification for this shooting.
Based on what I saw, and my mind could change if I saw evidence to the contrary, I believe the agents who killed him should be prosecuted. The Trump administration is claiming they were the victims.
And far too many people will watch that video and decide whether they agree with the killing or not based on who is President.
If this were a conservative filming agents enforcing lockdowns or some other progressive thing, the people who are outraged and the people who are justifying it would almost completely swap places.
This shooting, amd the reactions of so many, are just symptoms of a much bigger problem:
Too many of you literally do not care about right and wrong anymore. You care about red and blue, and pretend those are synonymous with right and wrong.
But team red and team blue are wrong far more often than they're right.
Too many of you are actively participating in your own subjugation.
Stop and think. Please.
As for those of you who aren't falling for this, please pray for America. Too many of her citizens want people they hate to suffer slightly more than them, much more than they want a constitutionally-limited republican form of government.
Athletes took all the media jobs from journalists and used to say that we didn’t know what we were talking about, all for athletes to get into media to prove that they don’t know what they’re talking about.
