@sircharlesohio@WendyDFW78@Angry_Staffer Not to mention created lots of jobs in red districts and further expanded healthcare coverage and reduced drug prices (all of which GOP legislators are asking not to be cut despite the fact that none of them voted for the legislation), but I guess none of that counts.
@digitalheaven I hope you’re well. Is someone checking this account? The contact form on your site no longer works, and Pro Player suddenly won’t let me sign in with my Apple ID. I’m trying to find a way to keep using it, and would love to talk to someone. Thank you!
20. Time will tell if I’m wrong, but I don’t see a reason why Noem would not send ICE to raid places in New Jersey, or any other blue place, instilling fear, creating chaos, and decimating the labor supply, while leaving “illegals” in states like hers largely untouched.
@HardwireMedia@itsYDG2 But they’re selling long-term treasury bonds because they know inflation is likely to go up. Stocks rise bc companies are going to make more money due to corporate tax cuts, which most people won’t benefit from. (I don’t know how many people want to “change their vote,” though)
@AmoneyResists If we do this, we will never have another free and fair election. We dismantle democracy by not accepting the results of an election. Yes, he’s an existential threat, but who decides next time? The ruling party? How is that different from him? Because we like our guy more?
@acwelling@chrisdmowrey We didn’t do a good job of telling people that. I get you can’t tell people the economy is good if they don’t feel it, but she didn’t celebrate the extraordinary accomplishments of the Biden admin (chips act! Infrastructure!) but also said she wouldn’t do anything different.
@annofbigbeach@ALavellee@Angry_Staffer There is no way to prevent it and save democracy. If we refuse to honor election results, that’s the end of elections. It’s awful, but we have to fight a different way.
@billintheburbs I wonder if we are back to split tickets, which used to be much more common. Most voters aren’t intellectually consistent but vote on feelings
@1Nicdar@TristanSnell But they still need to go in front of an immigration judge. The bill that was blocked had funding for many more that would have sped up the process of deportation, but it was better for him to run on the issue than to allow the current administration to begin to fix the issue
@defnotadino I asked an older friend why she didn’t have longterm care insurance. Back when it would have made sense to start paying into it, she was denied because she had unexplained headaches for a few months.
@fbonacci@SethAbramson@TheJusticeDept I agree with you, but my point is there’s a reason we don’t want to change the constitution so that a felon can’t run for president (Nelson Mandela is my other favorite example, if from a different country)
@fbonacci@SethAbramson@TheJusticeDept There is nothing in the constitution that says a felon can’t run. In fact, we’ve had at least one (Eugene Debs, who even ran from jail once, if I’m remembering my high school history class right). It would be nice if voters didn’t think this one was worthy of office, of course
