In this video, this pastor claimed that Muslims will never pay the new tax and that it is only Christians who will bear the burden. In my opinion, this kind of narrative appears to be a deliberate and systematic attempt to sabotage the tax reform by presenting it as something that will be applied based on religious affiliation. It is worrying how almost everything, absolutely everything, is now being viewed and interpreted through a spiritual lens in this country.

Turning national policies into religious talking points only deepens division and distracts from meaningful discussions about governance and development.

Stakeholders, especially religious leaders with huge influence over gullible people, should engage with issues with facts and responsibility, not sensationalism.
