No one can 100% "avoid" the flu.

We are all exposed to pathogens throughout our lives. The key to understanding infectious diseases is that there are wholly preventable infections (like small pox which vaccines eradicated or polio which again vaccines have the power to eradicate) and infections that can be tamed, to lessen their severity to reduce morbidity and death. Among the latter, the seasonal flu is one such because viruses mutate and adapt. Updated vaccines take care of mutants.

Any person claiming "non-vaccine" methods to totally "avoid" the flu is misinforming you.

There are people in the responses making very vague statements having whole foods, sleeping, adding vitamin D (totally misinterpreted and over glorified) and some even advising to catch the flu to prevent the flu, an utter nonsense.

Annual vaccine. Specific masks. Social distancing. If sick, stay at home. These enhance our barriers against getting the flu.

Flu vaccination also reduces risk of hospitalizations, risk of developing dementia, strokes, and heart disease which is well proven.

Actions should be purposeful. Purpose must be driven by evidence. Evidence must be validated and replicated. That's how scientific recommendations work. Not from combining vague opinions.
