Today, on behalf of the Baloch American Congress, I sent the attached letter to President Donald J. Trump requesting an urgent U.S. investigation into the reported Pakistani military airstrikes in Surab, Balochistan, which reportedly killed innocent civilians, including children, women, and elderly people.

In the Illegally occupied Balochistan, Pakistani forces have reportedly bombed innocent villages, killing more than 30 people, including children, women, elderly people, and young civilians, and injuring dozens more. We appeal to the international community, the United Nations, and human rights organizations to urgently intervene, hold those responsible accountable, and help stop the killing of innocent civilians in Balochistan. #Balochistan #Pakistan

Dear @kristinclemet,
Dr. @MahrangBaloch_ belongs to a region where thousands have been abducted & killed by the state, including her own father.
She raised her voice against these crimes.
Now she faces state retaliation.
Raise your voice for #ReleaseMahrangBaloch.

Jail one Mahrang Baloch, and ten more will rise to face the Pakistan Army. You can abduct bodies, erase names, and seal prisons. But you cannot arrest people who learned to survive by breathing through pain. 1/3
@nadirbaluchs
Rana Sanaullah ( Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Political and Public Affairs) attempted to justify enforced disappearances in Balochistan, claiming that missing persons were linked to the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and arguing that individuals associated with the BLA had “sacrificed their own human rights.” He maintained that enforced disappearances and violence in Balochistan started simultaneously, calling it a ‘chicken and egg story’, adding that they would also end together, just as they had started.

In March 2025, they were arrested under 3 MPO. After three months, the government issued more than 40 FIRs against them, including various types of cases. We have faced these cases not only in courts but also in multiple districts, including Noshki, Dalbandin, Makuran, Naseerabad, Mastung, Kalat, and Khuzdar. These courts not only granted bail but also upheld the rule of law.
In Quetta, we applied for bail in the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) before Judge Muhammad Ali Mubeen. He granted bail in many cases; however, in some cases, he later suspended the bail.
Despite this setback, we did not lose hope and approached the Balochistan High Court seeking justice in those bailable cases where the ATC had suspended bail. For the past two months, Chief Justice Kamran Mullah Khel has reserved his judgment, but no decision has yet been announced.
This situation clearly reflects that the justice system of Pakistan is under pressure from state institutions, commonly referred to as the Establishment.
Meanwhile, in Hudda Jail, Dr. Mahrang Baloch and her colleagues have been facing jail trial proceedings for the past six months. During this period, the proceedings have not been conducted fairly or smoothly. Judge Muhammad Ali Mubeen who previously suspended bail in some cases has raised serious concerns about impartial justice.
Our legal team, along with Dr. Mahrang Baloch, requested the transfer of the case to another judge. However, not only was this request denied, but the judge also threatened to add more charges against them.
This is not merely a denial of justice; it is a direct threat to peaceful political activists who are the voice of their nation.

They jailed her for a tweet.
On 24 January, human rights lawyer @ImaanZHazir and her husband @AdvHadiali were sentenced to 17 years in prison for tweeting and retweeting.
Days before her arrest, we filmed her talking about PECA, the law they'd use to lock her up.
2026 marks 10 years of Pakistan's cybercrime law, which has been used to silence anyone who dares to speak up. Tweet about disappearances? Jail. Call out human rights abuses? Jail. Criticise the state? Jail.
Imaan and Hadi are not the first. They won't be the last.
Join HRCP's campaign against a law that does little more than kill free speech and punish dissent. Ten years is long enough. PECA has to go.

Brussels: A delegation of @BNMovement_, led by Chairman @DrNaseemBaluch, attended an event on Pakistan’s GSP+ scheme, calling for increased pressure on Pakistan to safeguard human rights in #Balochistan and to suspend Pakistan’s GSP+ status.
The delegation also contributed to a separate meeting on minority rights in Pakistan, highlighting ongoing concerns in the region. They met with four MEPs to plan future awareness events in the European Parliament and agreed to collaborate closely on initiatives aimed at protecting human rights in Balochistan, including future efforts to secure the suspension of Pakistan’s GSP+ scheme.

In yet another jail trial held today, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) once again failed to submit all complaint reports for the FIRs registered against the detained leadership of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC). Only three reports have been presented, a blatant violation of legal procedure which mandates submission within 15 days.
Despite the passage of over a month, the judiciary has taken no concrete action against the CTD’s continued non compliance, enabling systematic delays and reinforcing the culture of indemnity. This ongoing collaboration between state institutions reflects a deliberate attempt to prolong the unlawful detention of BYC leaders, Dr. Mahrang Baloch, Bebagar Baloch, Beebow Baloch, Gulzadi Baloch, and SibgatUllah Shah Ji and to suppress their voices demanding justice and accountability.
Such repeated procedural violations expose how due process is being undermined to criminalize peaceful political activism in Balochistan.
