Gathoni wa Muchomba and George Koimburi problems.

If you listen carefully to Gathoni Wa Muchomba and George Koimburi lament about Rigathi Gachagua, you realise something similar.

They are both deeply upset with the former Deputy President for introducing opponents into their respective constituencies.

At first glance, they might be saying a lot of things, but if you listen keenly, what truly hurts them is the unexpected move by Gachagua to field other candidates—something they did not foresee.

These are the FACTS…!

Gathoni and Koimburi had no other viable political vehicle heading into the 2027 elections.

They had hoped Gachagua would allow them the freedom to operate as “independent-minded” leaders, with the plan to switch to DCP after they’ve “sikiza ground” in March 2027.

You remember how Gathoni played her cards — aligning with Uhuru Kenyatta and then joining Ruto late 2022 after benefiting from Uhuru’s resources?

Precisely.

But once Gachagua recognized their tactics, he swiftly moved to counter them by introducing other candidates for Juja and Githunguri constituencies.

That’s when everything changed.

Until just two weeks ago, Koimburi and Gathoni were silent admirers of DCP.

Then, three weeks ago, Riggy G was invited by a DCP aspirant, Wa Mabati — the proprietor of Ruiru Mabati — to a church service in Githunguri, followed by several stop-overs.

Gathoni was furious. She emerged, guns blazing, speaking at a supersonic speed about Gachagua’s moves.

To this day, she is visibly upset, expressing her frustrations loudly and publicly.

The following Sunday, Rigathi Gachagua visited Gatundu South for a church service.

Among those present was Aloise Kinyanjui, Moses Kuria’s brother.

Rigathi made multiple stop-overs, including a visit to Juja at Kimbo, where Aloise Kinyanjui announced his intention to vie for the Juja MP seat on a DCP ticket.

This rattled Koimburi deeply.

Since then, he’s been screaming like a cornered rat, feeling the pressure mounting.

Now, these two leaders find themselves caught between a rock and a hard place. Moving forward will not be easy for either of them.
