How many mechanics know this about diesels cars? How many owners do the same?

If you are buying a Demio diesel, know that it has a routine around it.

@joan_reals Mechanics also have a fair share of their blame for this Demio Diesel notion. Most service with 5w 40 and change after 10k kms instead of 5w 30 after 7k kms. They also don't tell you that the EGR has to be cleaned every 70k kms. The ATF needs a change every 40 to 50k km.

EVERY 5,000–7,000 KM:
• Oil + filter change

EVERY 20,000 KM:
• Fuel filter change

EVERY 50,000 KM:
• ATF change
• Clean EGR
• Clean intake

• Gentle driving until warm
• Keep RPM between 1,600–2,400 first minutes
• No hard acceleration when cold

WEEKLY:
• One 10–20 minute highway drive at 2,000–2,500 rpm (DPF clean-out)

@the_sambu @TotalEnergiesKE Last December, I fueled at Total Meru town. Didn’t go more than 50 km before the Subaru started jerking. I took it to a mechanic, did a diagnosis and we found that the fuel valves and throttle were gone because of bad fuel. Cost me more than 20k for repairs.
