It was quite dark when I left for my morning walk today. I thought this crow looked very atmospheric. Taken on my phone in very low light.

According to folklore, Norwegian folk music originated among supernatural creatures. It was believed that the best folk musicians had learned their skills from otherworldly beings, like the hulderfolk.

The hulders are nymph-like creatures that dwell underground in the woods and inside mountains, and they are known for their extraordinary musical talent.

Folklore says that the hulders use music to seduce men who are alone in the wilderness. A "huldrelokk" is an eerily beautiful melody that is sung or played by a hulder in order to lure men into following her into the otherworldly realm of the hulders, never to be seen again.
