In this study, @mxz0309 et al. @ZhaoLab_SKI describe how an antagonistic balance between Pol2’s exonuclease- and POPS-domain activities direct polymerase movement and genome replication in yeast. Read more about it here:

Thrilled to share our highly collaborative work uncovering the delicate balance between Pol2’s polymerase and exonuclease domain activity! Congratulations to my co-first authors @mxz0309 and Clemence and of course Iestyn and @ZhaoLab_SKI

Smc5/6 aids chromosome replication & repair while restraining viral DNA species. Our new work reports the first DNA-bound structure of Smc5/6. Congrats to all authors, particularly @Shibai6 from @ZhaoLab_SKI & You Yu from Patel Lab at @MSKCANCERCENTER 1/5 https://t.co/tNlRJXmIeT
Please RT. Postdoc positions available in the Zhao Lab at Sloan Kettering Cancer Institute to study DNA replication, recombinational repair, SUMO, & Smc5/6. Be part of our fantastic group & live in the phenomenal NYC! More info below. Contact me at [email protected] if interested.
Our paper on the multiple roles of a Polε unique domain in genome replication and stability is finally out. Congratulations to outstanding work of Xiangzhou Meng @mxz0309, Lei Wei, and our collaborator @LabRemus!

I think at this point it is safe to state that the virus is everywhere in the US and more widespread than we though. We will get through this, but it is going to be ugly. Stay at home and stop social interactions, no matter how old you are.
What we do next will have a massive impact on the trajectory of this virus in New York.
We can only maintain public health by STAYING APART.
The decision each of makes now will impact us all tomorrow. STAY HOME.
One terrifying chart shows just how far behind the United States is in testing its citizens for the coronavirus, compared to other countries https://t.co/pJn12IuG2Y
More people die from car accidents than bear attacks, but if you saw a sleuth of bears (really that's the name) running at you, you wouldn't say to the bear, cars kill more people.
You'd take that time to attempt some social distancing maneuvers, really fast.
