We're excited to share Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK)'s bold new advertising campaign “This Is What We Do.”
From a jazz musician whose life was saved by precision oncology, to a prostate cancer patient who has become an advocate for early detection, the stories we share throughout this campaign reflect our shared mission and the extraordinary outcomes we achieve together.
🔹 This is treatment on a cellular level.
🔹 This is care on a personal level.
🔹 This is hope on another level.
When someone receives a cancer diagnosis, we want them to know exactly what to do next: come to MSK. And when patients choose MSK, they’re choosing better, longer lives.

🚨 The @US_FDA has approved datopotamab deruxtecan (Dato-DXd) for patients with unresectable or metastatic triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) who are not candidates for immunotherapy.
The approval was based on results from the international Tropion-Breast02 clinical trial, led in the U.S. by MSK breast medical oncologist Dr. Tiffany Traina. Learn more: https://t.co/LWY0SMzD9n
By focusing on genetic blueprints instead of tumor locations, Conquer Cancer grant recipient Dr. Alison Schram unlocked a historic FDA "double win" for rare, aggressive cancers. 🔬 Early-career funding accelerates life-changing discoveries. MSK researchers are helping advance #MorPhiC, an international effort to determine the biological functions of the roughly 20,000 protein-coding genes in the human genome.
The work aims to transform the human genome from a list of parts into an instruction manual, helping researchers better understand what our genes do and how they shape human development.

Now in @CD_AACR: Deconvolving SARS-CoV-2 mRNA Vaccine Impact on Immunotherapy-related Survival - by Justin Jee, @SawyersLabMSKCC, @nikolausschultz, et al. @MSKCancerCenter - these findings suggest that the previously reported survival advantage may be explained by selection bias.
To Linds: I love you, and I never blinked.
Lindsay rang the bell at 10:55AM EST at @MSKCancerCenter.
4 months- unexpected diagnosis, surgery, radiation… behind us because you are a champion.
To all who are fighting, or know someone who is… we see you. We support you.
A new study by @RShouval and team evaluated the frequency of second primary malignant neoplasms among those with #Lymphoma or #Myeloma who received T-cell–engaging bispecific antibodies. @MSKCancerCenter

🎉Congratulations to MSK pathologist Dr. Alexander Gitlin for being named a 2026 Pew-Stewart scholar!
Dr. Gitlin will uncover how cell signaling controls the nature and magnitude of inflammation in normal physiology and in disease, focusing on the intersection of inflammatory signaling and cell death pathways.
And finally, meet the 2026 Pew-Stewart scholars.
These five scientists are tackling some of cancer research’s biggest questions, from pioneering new strategies to engineering lifesaving treatments.

MSK scientists have uncovered a hidden role for RNA.
Researchers led by MSK molecular and cell biologist @Mayr_Christine found that #RNA can act as a protein chaperone, helping critical regulatory proteins fold into the correct shape as they are being made.
The findings reveal a previously unknown function of RNA and suggest this mechanism may be used by more than 2,700 human genes. Learn more: https://t.co/cAQybc7Dck

For years, patients with triple negative #breastcancer (#TNBC) have had limited treatment options beyond chemotherapy.
Now, based on results from the MSK-led TROPION-Breast02 trial, Dato-DXd was FDA approved in May 2026 as first-line therapy for adults with advanced HER2 negative breast cancer who have already received endocrine-based therapy and chemotherapy, making it the first TROP2-directed ADC to gain FDA approval as first-line in this patient population.
“Dato-DXd significantly improved overall survival for this challenging subtype of breast cancer, where historic median overall survival has been about 12 months,” said Dr. Tiffany Traina, lead and senior author of the study and MSK breast medical oncologist.

#MRFResearchWednesday – we are honored to highlight Sarah Kim of @MSKCancerCenter, recipient of an MRF Medical Student Award, with funding support provided in Memory of Peter Looney and the Looney Legacy Foundation.
Sarah’s work titled, “Benign Dermoscopic Morphology by Skin Tone and Anatomic Site”, will create a diverse image database of benign skin lesions across all skin tones to improve diagnosis, reduce unnecessary biopsies and help ensure future AI tools work effectively for everyone.
Of her work, Sarah offers, “This research aims to build a diverse image database of benign skin lesions seen through dermoscopy, helping dermatologists better recognize these common skin findings across different skin tones and body sites. By improving our understanding of what benign lesions look like in diverse patients, we hope to support more accurate melanoma detection, reduce unnecessary biopsies, and help ensure that patients of all skin tones receive thoughtful, equitable skin cancer care."
