In November 2014,

Safaricom signed a contract with the Government of Kenya for the installation of CCTV worth KSH 15 billion.

Do you Kenyans know what is KSH 15 billion?

In Kenya, we just toss a billion as if it is loose change.

Do the maths,

With KSH 1 billion, you will spend 54,000 every day ‐ DAILY, for 50 years.

You leave the house with KSH 54,000, spend all of it, and if there is balance, you throw it away, and then tomorrow, you pick another 54,000.

— You do this EVERY SINGLE FUcK1N DAY, from Monday to Monday for 50 YEARS! ( From 1974 to 2024) — 50 YEARS.

But SAFARICOM signed 15 billion!

Do you know what that money can do in counties?

The yearly budget of Murang'a County is approximately KSH 10 billion.

The yearly budget of Baringo County is approximately KSH 6 billion.

The yearly budget of Siaya County is approximately KSH 7 billion.

But Safaricom signed 15 Billion.

Now, Safaricom will sign another KSH 104 billion! That is TEN, 10 billion bundles, with some change, to develop a useless SHIF technology that is not a priority for Kenyans.

ONE HUNDRED AND FOUR.

Yet university students are broke.

Yet JSS teachers earn 17,000.

Yet healthcare professionals are committing suicide.

This is immorally wrong.
