This is truly diabolical. The public urgently needs education on land matters. Someone says the company gave him transfer forms and thinks that makes them secure lol. Transfer forms can be printed from the Ministry of Lands, and signatures can be forged or duplicated.
One of the key things that protects you when buying land in installments is a properly drafted agreement, represented and witnessed by your legal officer.
I wish the Ministry would organize free public trainings on land matters because many people make costly mistakes unknowingly.

CMC Motors Group announces its decision to cease operations in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania after 40 years, citing sustained market challenges, including economic pressures, currency depreciation and rising operational costs.
Once pivotal to East Africa's agricultural sector through mechanization and vehicle production, CMC had retrenched 169 employees in 2023, marking an earlier step toward scaling back.
The company states that even after restructuring efforts, market conditions have left no viable path forward.

After successfully completing my LLB, I paid a visit to my mother in Buhweju . Since 2020, I had never returned home, and the mission was to go home and make my mother know that his son was not in Kampala joking on streets. Thanks to my parents, who have pushed me this far.
Dr. Charles Lule was in my same PCB Class in HSC. He made it to Medical school while I couldn't, one of those missed opportunities I reminisce about my life, but that's another story.
Dr. Charles, together with one Prof. Ocama, were brilliant classmates in my class.
I knew they would go far in their medical careers, and I was right.
Nevertheless, we went on with our lives, and for 36 years, I did not know what happened to them until this week.
In the week, Dr @rkalyes1 reported that Prof. Ocama was elected President Elect of the Association of Africa and Middle East Association of Gastroenterology AMAGE in Cairo. I was like Woah! I knew it!
But in a sudden twist, the week also gave me sad knews of Dr. Charles Lule. In a GoFundMe page forwarded to me, I saw a name, and a face that got me thinking; I KNOW THIS GUY!
Wasn't this guy my Classmate? Wasn't this guy a Doctor?
So I read on. And this -below, was what was posted.
"Hello, friends, family, and kind strangers,
We are reaching out to share the story of Charles Lule, who has been bravely battling Parkinson's Disease (PD) for the past four years. As a devoted father to two adult daughters—one of whom is still in college—Charles has always been a pillar of strength and support for our family.
Before his diagnosis, Charles dedicated over 25 years of his career to providing healthcare for others, as a physician scientist, with 15 years of those in intra-operative neuro-monitoring. His passion for helping others and advancing medical science was evident in every aspect of his work.
Even after his diagnosis, he continued to work for two years, pushing through the challenges that PD presented, until the disease became too aggressive to manage.
Today, Parkinson's has significantly affected his motor function. He struggles to walk independently due to severe weakness in both his upper and lower limbs, with the right side of his body experiencing debilitating tremors.
Additionally, he now faces extended periods of severe muscle spasms and deep neuro pain, which greatly impact his quality of life.
He has developed significant tolerance to the medications and experiences long repeated off periods, during which his symptoms are intense.
Our Current Situation:
To ensure Charles receives the care he needs, we have hired assistance to help him with activities of daily living (ADLs), manage his pain, and ensure he takes his medications on time.
However, the costs associated with his care are mounting, and it has become increasingly difficult for our family to manage." - End.
Well, I have never done this before, but I am asking you to put Dr. Charles Lule in your prayers, and share the gofund me page among wellwishers.
If you can place a donation, I am sure the organizers will appreciate your help.
Dr. Charles Lule dedicated his life to service, to provide health to others. In his hour of need, I know you can support him too.
Just publicizing this (retweets, sharing) shall be a great honor.

The pork of Kyadondo Rugby Club needs to be recognised internationally by Unesco and the Micheline guide. It should be in all tourism guides hands down! The smoke, the meat, the sneaky marabou stork and that big bucket of chilli make it an immersive and unique experience.
Uganda has one thing where it is a clear leader (we are talking human-made things, not talking waterfalls or wildlife in the parks). It’s National Social Security Fund is easily the best-run and most creative fund in Africa. Uganda's NSSF, among other things, is the largest money manager in Kenya’s infrastructure bonds and the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange in Tanzania.
I recently interviewed a senior official, and he did a “humble brag” thing. He told me they have no one to benchmark against on the continent, as they work to ensure members get their payouts in less than a day. He surprised me, saying that to improve their customer service, they have been studying the Ugandan restaurant chain Café Javas (CJ’s in Kenya). Those chaps are “years ahead of everyone”. I guess its big up to CJ’s unassuming founder Ahmed Omar Mandela.
Let's Save Ian.
Ian was a High School confidant. We shared a lot, from fears to fantasies. We often dreamt of the day we would make it to Kampala. Our dreams were not many. Kampala was the dream. Here, in this city, we would turn our lives around.
In 2013, God made a way! We found ourselves in the city. Both of us had received government scholarships to university. Ian was a scientist. I was in the Arts. We were soon to graduate, him as a textile engineer, and I as a teacher.
Even as we took different paths, we kept in touch. Often, we met and reflected on the far we had come. Ebenezer was always our song. We were growing, from boys to men. At the beginning of this year 2024, Ian announced his wedding dates. June was the month. We awaited it, with great anticipation.
In March, three months to the wedding, the groom was bedridden, in a critical condition. Ian was bedridden. Our hands held onto the backs of our heads. Our lips froze.
The diagnosis came. It hit like a clenched fist in the gut. Kidney Failure! Ian was diagnosed with end-stage Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). We needed a Kidney Transplant.
Question after question flew in. The Hows and the Whys were many. Then, the wedding question; what about the wedding? Friends, even with a failing kidney, Ian showed up! Ian wedded his fiancée on June 07th, 2024. He then returned to dialysis at Mulago.
Ian needs our support for a kidney transplant. We need between 150 – 200 million for the whole medical procedure, which shall be completed in India. Please save Ian. Donate the little you can. It can make a difference. God Bless You!
