@RoryDiamond LERP was never intended to be funded with public dollars, but in any case Parks and DIA removed it from the plan. They also removed the planned Pearl sculpture at the RiversEdge park. Public did not have a say with either of these decisions.
๐งตLegislators think theyโre voting on property taxes.
Theyโre actually voting on who controls local government.
For 50 years, Floridaโs deal was simple: local communities paid their own bills, and local voters held local officials accountable.
Break that system, and the question isnโt what gets cut.
Itโs who takes control.
@Watchman_motto A homeowner before us took similar looking doors going to our side room, formerly an open porch. In our historic neighborhood, many homes still have them, and Iโm envious! I suppose we could have some madeโฆ/
Watching the Gauff Potapova matchโฆso many empty seats and on a Saturday? Is it that ticket sales are so low or are people not showing up. Sponsors need to give their tickets away, bad look on TV.
One of Americaโs great delusions is conflating great cities with the presence of skyscrapers.
Want to find the most boring and soulless part of any American city? Go straight to where its tallest towers are. That's true even in Manhattan.
Our cities would be so much more livable if we could reset our imagination and accept vastly larger areas of mid-rise homes.
The @cityoflondon is planning to transform Fleet Street.
One of their options includes widening the pavement by up to 2m, more seating, planting trees & gardens and restricting eastbound through traffic (except buses, cycles & taxis).

Love this expansive experience of the park, river and Main Street bridge at Riverfront Plaza. Soon it may be obstructed by a restaurant planned for this spot, an unfortunate switch from the original plan.
NYC and every city across the US needs urban bio swales as well. These work in concert with your sewage system by diverting a portion of rainwater into the ground, recharging the aquifer, absorbing carbon, supporting pollinators, and making the city beautiful. More please
