Addicts before chemicals. Celebrities before fame. All of us kneeling to something. All of us organizing our lives around something that promises salvation. Something we defend with violence when threatened. Something we sacrifice sleep, health, relationships to serve. We've just renamed our gods. Changed what we place on the altar. What scares me is watching them search for Him everywhere except where He said He'd be. Not in success or power or pleasure or knowledge. But in the hungry we feed. The naked we clothe. The prisoners we visit. The strangers we welcome. The thirsty we give drink. We're all dying of thirst while claiming the well doesn't exist

If you have big dreams or aspirations of being successful, it’s best to make friends with the same interests early in life. I’ve always dreamed of being successful, but didn’t have the knowledge or drive to achieve it. I met plenty of people that wanted a friendship with me, but ultimately lost contact with me because I couldn’t keep up with their lives. This was a lesson I learned once I started my journey to success. The more I improved, the more distant I became with friends who couldn’t or didn’t want to elevate with me. All of those I cut ties with are either in the same position they were in or worse. Had I remained friends with them, I would’ve remained stagnant as they did. When I made friends with people with the same mindset and drive, it motivated me to achieve greater.
