@Mohapatra_Ashu7@Latimusaurs@whizkidd Again, I didn't say they didn't consider or plan for heavy rain at all.
My point was simply that extreme scenarios like this 670mm dump are tough to fully predict or design for with no upper limit in practice.
It is fair to ask for accountability, waiting for audits on this.
@Mohapatra_Ashu7@Latimusaurs@whizkidd I never claimed that. I am saying is it always possible to prepare for such scenarios? If you are confident of a rebuttal, maybe you can share that it wasn't considered.
@Latimusaurs@whizkidd That is a wrong take in my opinion, but you are entitled to it.
Its a landslide which has caused the slab to fall. There have been many instances of reported landslides this time. And yes this year's rainfall over 24hr period is unprecedented.
@Latimusaurs@whizkidd I am not debating that. In fact, I agree that planning should consider the worst case scenarios. I am saying will you have a number for which we can safely assume that this looks good?
In India, we don't have that luxury sadly.
@Latimusaurs@whizkidd Lets say we plan for 700mm, then 800mm rain happens. Would you still say that they should have planned for it? There is technically no upper limit to it.
@pranav_agrwl@Sahilinfra2 I get it. You'll understand it better when you actually drive on that road.
Anyway the posts show that trucks drive on all the lanes(Yes, there is no enforcement). And I am simply pointing out that trucks dont the blame for it. Cars are equally responsible.
@pranav_agrwl@Sahilinfra2 Good of you to assume that. Nothing is enforced in India. We are frustrated with it as well. But you are living under the wrong assumption that trucks are a problem.
@pranav_agrwl@Sahilinfra2 On ghat section its a matter of slower truck vs extremely slow truck. Former tends to overtake the latter, causing issues. Unfair to point fingers at heavy vehicles only. Cars are equally responsible. In fact private cabs occupy overtaking lane while cruising at 80kmph.
@Sahilinfra2 This road has been like this for over 15 years. They have only redone the shoulder lane. The main carriageway was always good. The stark difference in concrete of those days and today is visibly evident.
@CMadaiah@npandit@RahulChels That's the point. We don't even need to spend like China on a massive network. 4-5 HSR corridors are enough.

@Sahilinfra2@hashmap24@KamathGurudutt@Explorer_Yash@MMRDAOfficial@myBESTBus I think people should stick to Chalo for Gundavli to BKC. At least this way they get direct access inside BKC and avoid walking. Obvious disadvantage is that it goes via WEH which can cause delays due to traffic and also it operates with a limited time bound frequency.
@KamathGurudutt@Explorer_Yash If you are coming from Borivali via Red line then you can get down at NPCI Jogeshwari E, take a bus A462 right below the station to Adani power plant and walk to aarey station. Total walking would be 150m to 180m.
This is an additional option to gundavli - marol - bkc
@chaloapp Hey Chalo app, what happened to services between 8.15am and 9.30am for S-112 from Gundavali to BKC?
Ever since Diwali they are not showing up on the App.
