The UpFrontPSMA phase 2 trial evaluated the use of Lutetium-177 [177Lu]Lu-PSMA-617 followed by docetaxel in patients with de-novo high-volume metastatic hormone-sensitive #ProstateCancer .Conducted at 11 Australian🇦🇺 hospitals, the trial randomly assigned patients to either the experimental treatment ([177Lu]Lu-PSMA-617 followed by docetaxel) or standard treatment (docetaxel alone). After 48 weeks, 41% of patients in the [177Lu]Lu-PSMA-617 group had undetectable PSA levels, compared to 16% in the docetaxel-only group.
The combination therapy demonstrated improved antitumor activity without added toxicity, suggesting [177Lu]Lu-PSMA-617 could benefit patients with hormone-sensitive metastatic prostate cancer.

In-transit back from #ESMO24 reflecting on my last attendance #ESMO17 where I had the pleasure to present our first 30 patient trial of Lutetium-177 PSMA-617. There was only a handful of nuclear medicine specialists at #ESMO17, and few oncologists had heard of PSMA.

The message is CLEAR: in order to progression nuCLEAR MEDICINE, we need prospective trials.
