These charts have me thinking
- Opus 5.5 xhigh/max for coding is probably shooting yourself in the foot
- high might be worth it for some incremental accuracy
- medium is goldilocks zone
Surely that can't be it?
Opus 5.5 communicates more naturally, addressing some of the most common feedback we heard on Opus 5.
It puts the most important information up front and follows the writing rules you give it, which makes long sessions easier to follow.
Is it just me or is Opus 5.5 actually slower than Fable?
So far enjoying working with it... everything just seems to take longer, especially on large tasks.
First impressions working with Opus 5.5 vs Fable 5.1
Pros:
- as smart if not smarter than Fable
- better at design
- less claude-speak
- more intuitive and proactive
- waaay more cost-efficient
Cons:
- even more self-righteous 🤦🏻 proactive about what it won't do because of T&Cs it found
@RossHudgens@asmartbear Excellent point on the trap of optimizing for low quality traffic.
Pushing people who won’t convert further down the funnel ruins the funnel for real buyers.
@LawyerTanaka Excellent points. The policy clearly opens transfusions up for JWs.
But the announcement was worded in a way that some will interpret it as "perhaps still not ok".
Seems intentionally confusing
found the perfect use case for @typesafeai Jev:
instant compaction
in 2026, why is compaction still a summarization prompt?
Jev can make it instant by scoring every tool call and dropping what’s irrelevant
supply of software has increased, but demand hasn't
it's Buffet's "standing on tiptoe at a parade" situation
- one person stands on their tiptoes
- the person behind them responds by doing the same
- suddenly everyone is doing it but no one is seeing any better
startups can now throw more code at a problem, but so can everyone else
more resources used, but still fighting for the same wallets
@thekitze ideas are cheap. only execution matters
i've always liked to think about it like this:
- don't worry about sharing your idea. the vast majority of people can't and won't execute it
- the people who CAN execute, have too many ideas to handle. they don't need to steal one more
