Really excited to explore this new guide from @NSWEducation looking at evidence-based reading practices in Years 3-8. A great way to support schools to build upon effective reading instruction in the early years. https://t.co/a7lZ62ylPx
'Imputed disability' is when the disability is attributed by someone else, E.g. by the student's teacher. Sometimes there are reasonable grounds to believe that a student has a disability even when there is no formal diagnosis and it is not acknowledged by the student's family.
Direct discrimination occurs when a student with disability is treated less favourably than other students because of their disability. Eg: a decision is made that students in the SU will not take part in a whole-of-school excursion because of the extra administrative burden.
Cobbold says public schools in Australia therefore do as well as private schools despite having far fewer human and material resources than private schools and being disadvantaged by government funding policies that have heavily favoured private schools.

I’d also add that decisions about teaching and learning should ALWAYS involve teachers as we are the experts in teaching and learning, and we work with students day in day out. We understand what our students need and what conditions will enable success.
@traciteacher Maybe: 6000÷4= amount of Apple's too green, 6000÷3= amount of Apple's too small, and, 6000÷10= amount if Apple's rotten. What you have left is the answer? OR get a 100 chart, colour every 3rd, 4th and 10th number. Count the leftovers and × by 600 to get your answer. My attempt..
Today Dave and Tarah from @ourcbcity came to split our hive and give a talk with our S1 and S2 EALD students. We have lots of honey but not enough bees, so they will be back to split our hive next year. Our students love learning! @McCallumsHillPS @annadelconte @RachelIsaacs10
Today 2 Ivy went to see the beehive separation from @ourcbcity. Before we left they asked me if they could bring a whiteboard to “write down some features and interesting facts” and that they did! 🤩 feeling proud @McCallumsHillPS@nessazie
